Dash and Wedge

By humptydumpty96, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey guys was tweaking my final tourney list and came up with this...thoughts?

Dash (36 pts)

-Heavy laser cannon (7 pts)

-PTL (3)

-cluster missiles (4)

-Kyle Kayan (3)

-outrider title (5)

-anti pursuit lasers (2)

Wedge (29)

-lone wolf (2)

-R2D2 (4)

-engine upgrade (4)

Total 99

Thanks everyone!

Frankly, I would suggest running Poe instead of Wedge. Wedge is too easy to kill quickly, even with R2-D2.

Also, I think proton rockets are better on Dash than cluster missiles. The rockets throw 4 dice in one attack, so against most things, have a better chance of squeaking damage through agility than cluster missiles do (you also probably won't have enough tokens to modify both cluster shots)

I would prefer engine upgrade on Dash personally, but I know some people have managed to be successful without it.

Dash w/ HLC, PTL, outrider, kyle, APL & proton rockets = 59

Poe w/ lone wolf, R2-D2 & autothrusters = 39

98

If you are adverse to that initiative bid, you could always throw flechette torps on Poe, although they aren't really necessary. Although as I said, engine upgrade would fit in place of APL for an even 100

Awesome thanks!

Blade mercurial I see you have helped my yt24 questions before so I'm curious what your opinion is on them in general? I really like the move list and love flying them...

Okay, here's my random thoughts:

YT-2400 is a great ship. Its got an excellent dial---best large-base dial in fact (although the jumpmaster's dial is interesting too). Barrel roll is exceptional, so having it on the action bar is a definite plus.

I have to admit I don't use it much myself though, mainly because I don't play rebels very often, and when I do, I prefer 3+ ships typically. I think the best builds for the ship at the moment are:

WSF w/ HLC & recon spec = 40

Vrill w/ HLC, intel agent & ion projectors = 42

Dash w/ HLC, outrider, PTL, kyle & engine = 58 (standard dash)

The ship is pretty good as a cannon carrier since it re-positions so well. Its an excellent blocker too when enemies get in too close for the HLC.

As you can see, that Vrill and Dash build above are exactly 100 points together----I think its a great double YT build, although it has a bit of a learning curve.

Kanan Jarrus on Dash is going to make an impression on some people, possibly replacing Kyle for some people's preferences, but ultimately, I think Kyle is the better choice because unmodified dice just let you down...

For 12 games now I've been using the following:

Dash w/ HLC, title, EU, PtL and Nien Numb and 2 x Rookie w/ R2 and Integrated.

Dash is very nearly super and in matches against stress has more options due to Nien and the rookies more than pull their weight with integrated giving them another 1 or 2 rounds.

That is a very intriguing build, what kind of issues have you run into in your 12 matches?

I had been throwing together a list with a coupl Awings but I really like the xx
