My 3D-printed accessory megathread

Really lovely design, I wish this kind of stuff wasn't more expensive than a MC30 when shipped to Europe :/

Which is really weird.

Since most of the time it comes out of Finland or something... One of the Scandinavian countries anyway, last time I ordered...

Well it's probably the VAT on top of the shipping. Ordering 1 unit brings the price up to Home one level...

Yeah. It's a little pricey at ~$24.00 (including shipping) per ship's tray. Even on sale that's too rich for my blood.

I know they cost a bit...especially in Australia

But... There awesome!

Use them once and you'll ask yourself how you ever survived without!

Did you ever look into bigger damage card holders? I'd be interested in something that could hold 11, can't really manage an ISD with Motti (not that I do that often).

My design philosophy was to do 6 because of the number of ships that would support (everything except MC80, VSD, ISD). But I could do an 11 if others felt that would be good. Like this if you want to see an 11-damage version.

Shapeways has free GLOBAL shipping through today on all orders over $25.

I'd add that I too, love these, but god, $24 each is a little too rich for my blood..

I have to agree about price sadly. Not gonna pay more for a tray than the ship I represent with it. They do look sharp tho.

Such is the pricing with Shapeways. Their 3D print methodology makes really sharp prints without the lines that filament-based methods do, but they cost more than filament-based methods. There's no comparison when you put a Shapeways version next to a filament-based version of this model. It's just sad that the price difference is so much.

I do have a filament-based 3D printer coming, and I'm considering also selling prints. They will run closer to the $15 range, but I'm not sure yet since I haven't done all the math. This thread will get updated when/if I do.
