My main critic about FFG policies

By Hexdot, in X-Wing

It is not about money, number of waves or related. It is about vital upgrade cards. Example : Integrated Astromech

Cost 0 upgrade quite critical to x wings. Something to fix it a little ok. You must buy T 70 blisters, Ok. It is a x wing fix in a x wing blister.

You open it and...ONE CARD. ONE. Perhaps you own many T 65, plus at least one T 70. Or more. And you buy a ship with ONE fix card. As I say very often, buy ships, not cards. But this is a little joke. Here your little fix. One per blister.

And the Tie / FO comes with TWO upgrade cards. Ohhhh man. Don't kid me.

i bet one or two will come in rebel veterans
I'm not so sure. It would have made sense to make TIE Mark II available in Imperial Vets, but those clever people at FFG thought it would push more product if they remain available with the Punisher only, for the moment. Integrated Astromech seems like a similar case.

Or, as the TIE Punisher came with two of the Mk II´s, they think there is enough saturation to face criticism if they pack them so soon after the first release.

And the Tie / FO comes with TWO upgrade cards. Ohhhh man. Don't kid me.

You do realize this has been the policy from the very beginning, right? If it comes with 4 pilots, it has 5 upgrades. If it comes with 6 pilots, it has 2 upgrades. The 'larger' small ships (like the StarViper) that they started selling for $20 instead of $15 include 9 upgrades instead of 5.

If anyone's kidding you, it's yourself.

To be honest, the defender doesn't need Tie mk. 2. It is pretty helpful, but you still shouldn't put PTL on them and X7 Defenders can get an Evade and still pull off a tight turn by barrel rolling after the three turn.

And Copy, Print, Paste a lot.

The Punisher comes with two of them. Which card would you leave out of Imperial Veterans to put more TIE mk2s in?

The missiles and bombs. Anyone who already plays bombers with any sort of seriousness will already have a huge pile of bombs and missiles they never use.

So you think they should sell a pack of 2 miniatures that can take missile and bombs (and in fact for the 'bomber' is it's main reason for existing) but not include any bomb or missile cards in the pack as people who already play have plenty of missiles and bombs....

makes sense...

Well, you know the Empire motto

BOOST, BR, PTL!

8 IS NOT A PS!

When some of the stuff in that pack is designed to turn them into a transport ship by removing the bomb and missile slots, yes.

They wouldn't, but... you asked what could be removed in order to fit things people actually need and might not have many of. That's the answer. Even just removing the bomb would have given a bit more room.

Yeah, I want to fly a crackshot swarm with my TIEs. Looks like I'll have to buy 5-6 Khiraxz fighters... I also own no other scum ships. They obviously do this so that I' say, "well, I have all of these Khiraxz fighters, I guess I better buy more scum ships now so that I can actually use them." Smart. Annoying, but smart on their part.

Details, details.

(I don't seriously support dropping something for TIEMk2 by the by, but it might have been nice to include a copy.)

That's what is known as a loaded question. I don't know which cards, if any, can be left out of Imperial Veterans, and I don't think it is really a question I should be answering. Rather, my point is that not including Mk. II is an indication that these fixes are not sold in every expansion where it might be opportune for players. So I don't expect that AI will be part of the hypothetical Rebel Veterans.

Of course, you may be placing more importance on the TIE Engine MK II than what is clearly shown. If everyone was running it, it may have shown up again. But, it isn't, so the importance of putting it in another expansion is lower.

On the other hand, PTL, which is just as, if not more important, of an upgrade was in Imperial Aces. To be frank, putting the TIE MK II on the same level as Integrated Astromech seems to be setting unreal expectations.
