Turn Order 2 Heroes

By seef1033, in Imperial Assault Campaign

One main question about turn order after starting our first campaign.

We have 2 heroes. To start a game we have one rebel hero choose to go first (Rebel A) and we resolve as follows.

Round 1:

Rebel A (1)

Imp.

Rebel B (1)

Imp.

Must be Rebel A (2)

Imp.

Rebel B (2)

Imp.

Round 2:

Must be Rebel A (1)

and so on...

Is this too rigid? In other words, does it have to be A,B,A,B or can it be A,B,B,A? Also, please address if each round has to start with the same rebel.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't played any game with less than 4 heroes, but as I remember it, each hero has to go once before one can go a second time. However, which one goes first (and 3rd) can change round to round.

Actually had this fight with my players.

Rules as written (all one sentence on the subject tucked away in the "learn to play book") simply states that all players must go once before anyone goes twice. *So, either player may take their second turn after, even if they are going twice.

I *prefer alternating turns, but that's my opinion. I think the flexibility gives the rebels even *more advantage.

There is no rule restricting which rebel has to go first each round. Yes, that means the rebels can time it out ABBA ABBA, to constantly get back to back activations and turbosprint around the map.

Moral of the story? The "less than four rebels" rules are less than perfect. If your players are organizationally capable of handling more than one rebel hero, play with four heroes (more than one per person). That's my suggestion, having played both ways.

I agree, if possible always have 4 heroes, as that is what the game is designed around. One rebel player and they control all 4, two players and they have two each (I am not even sure why they had the 2 hero option...), but the awkward one is 3 Rebel players, as someone ends up with an extra hero, so I can understand why they did what they did in that regard.
