Who would your ideal Jedi/Sith Master be and why?

By BeastmanJenkins, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Here's a topic of discussion just for funsies! Who, if you had the choice for your F&D characters, would your ideal Master be and why? I'm probably going to catch some flack for this, but my choice would be Revan. Preferably before he was stored in a tube and fed off of by the Emperor, inevitably shattering his mind, but after he completely recovered his memories. The idea of being able to channel both sides of the Force simultaneously, unleashing it in its purest form, is pretty cool to me. He was also able to do a little bit of everything, making him a little OP.

Public service announcement: I wouldn't want my character to be anywhere near that powerful, I chose him strictly for the knowledge he possesses of the Force. So Revan haters go easy on me lol.

Up until he turns Sith, I have to say that Dooku is my ideal of a Jedi. I like to think that he initially left the Order for the right reasons (and that's certainly the case in my AU) before becoming even more corrupt than the Order ever was.

Plo Koon. Not only is he a measured and practiced Jedi, but he's a bug-face. And bug-face is my favorite species to play.

Qui Gon, though Plo Koon is a close second.

I really liked how, in the book Plagueis, they compared Qui Gon to Count Dooku. The two were very similar in their feelings toward the Jedi, one just went dark side and the other didn't. I wish Qui Gon would have lived longer to see if maybe he would have fallen just like Dooku did.

Why these two?

Kylo Ren seems like a great teacher, I mean Rey picked it up real quick and it didn't even look like Ren was trying!

I don't know enough EU to put a specific master out. My master would be a consular not a knight probably someone simmilar to the librarian in the prequels.

For the ideal Jedi, I'd go with Obi-Won. He's as clever, and stronger then Qui-Gon ever was. He holds strongly to the tenets of the Jedi Code. Yet he has on several occasions challenged the Council's orders and stance on several issues. Though he was a very successful military commander, and known for using unusual strategies, he was also very diplomatic. Despite all the darkness he experienced with Qui-Gon's death, the Clone Wars, his love and loss of Satine, Anakin's betrayal, and the fall of the Order, he never once wavered from the light. He was a true paragon of the light side of the force, and definitely a strong candidate for the ideal jedi in my opinion.

...because, um, reasons...

She looks like she'd be a lot of fun to learn from and could teach you all sorts of neat stuff...

... and she'd probably be patient and understanding if I got stuff wrong. Probably.

Ganner Rhysode

or

Corran Horn

Probably Zayne Carrick or Kanan.

Qel Droma has always appeared to me as a very deep-built character, tridimensional and with a cool story. Also Quinlan Vos, for the same reasons, and maybe Ahsoka Tano.

But Obi-Wan will always be my weakness

Reven, one of the greatest Jedi/Sith lords in "history".

Satele Shan.

My favorite Jedi is Mace Windu so if I were picking Jedi it would be him. My favorite Sith is Exar Kun. So if I'm going Sith I'd like to train with him.

Not really sure. From what I see, no one. Mostly because they all have a black/white mentality, with out any greyness. I think everything is grey though

Yoda. One of the strongest and wisest Jedi, and he managed to train Luke considerably well in the few weeks or so that they were together. Plus... he's iconic. :-D

Plo Koon and Luminara Unduli, and maybe Thon.

I think the characterization in TCW did wonders for the first two. And Thon's some kind of dinosaur. Who wouldn't want to learn space magic from a talking dinosaur?

Good pick.

I'd go with Odan-Urr. No other Jedi had as big an impact on learning, knowledge, and the Jedi Code as he did.

Revan or Bane. Revan because he understands that there is only the force, no real light or dark. Bane because he's a huge badass.

I think TCW did a great job on developing the Jedi Masters. Before TCW I thought Kit Fisto was interesting looking but you know ok. After TCW though he's now one of my favorite Jedi. I felt Mace grew well on that show as well. I just wish they had used Shaak Ti for more than 2 episodes.

Personally, you've already said too much elsewhere. I jest!

To be honest I don't know. I imagine Qui-Gon's tutor age would be the most productive for me.

My characters never particularly had an ideal mentor. His main form of tutoring for a long time was from a Sith Saber with a decidingly secretive and old fashioned view of the galaxy. The next closest thing was being captured by inquistors and given a rather intense period over a 6 week span. Needless to say, my character is famously temperamental when it comes to dealing with force users.
