Looking to play double YV-666 at the next tourney. For the fun of it really.

I tried this list last week with crack shot on Bossk and cluster missiles on Latts. Got powned by double pancake and A-wing aces. Both those upgrades worked well.....once. So I've swapped them out. Really need to get aces to move before Bossk. May even ditch HSB for EU on Latts. Anyone played double YVs? Any thoughts to share?

With two of them, you really ought to be starting with EU/Fins and Tactician on both, and moving on from there.

After that point, you've got 20 points remaining to play with, and are still fightfully squishy.

Never played double YVs but I'm on my YV kick atm so I'll chime in.

Bossk won't benefit from the mango all that often honestly. Its usually on the approach and maybe a time or two after because he's usually broadsiding or at R1. In a 2 ship list like this it might still be worthwhile since you have pts to fill but otherwise its extraneous. From that perspective I'd consider the ion cannon instead. Cheaper and gives the conundrum of double stress or stress/ion=double stress.

Otherwise you could lose gunner and get them each some big guns and try to slow roll, but then your in brobot territory only worse plus gunner/tactician is sick.

IMO both YVs need boost. Its just so good with their aux arc/k4 and keeps em out of trouble and alive longer. Lining up an aux arc as you arc dodge with bossk is just satisfying. Lastly I'd consider inertial dampeners on each. This list has some huge weaknesses that double stops can help to address especially when one is on the fly.

Yeah. I think Eu on both is the go. I also wanted to use a secondary weapon to reduce range 3 green die. Ion cannon on Bossk? Better on Moralo I think. That's a good conundrum. But no EPT! So VI Bossk with Mangler or Moralo with Ion / HLC........

Decisions, decisions

Moralo is a nice idea but I'd stick with bossk IMO. If anything replace razzi although from my play time with them I feel moralo is the worst of the bunch.

I'm on your page as far as range 3 goes. Ion + tactician is one of my favorite strategies for ships like poe but cannons just don't get used often enough on YVs to sink too many points into them, moralo being the exception.

So on that note you could always take moralo + HLC and bossk with gunner. Your damage output is spread more evenly between 2 ships and it opens up your options. If only dengar was legal now.

I know. Dengar. Predator and Boba on the YV gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling

I guy in my local meta has been running a double slaver build with either k4 or tactician on both with 3 z-95s. Use the Headhunters to bump the YVs to help them slow roll so they can get the k4 target locks without moving.

That is 36 total health between 5 ships, 12 red dice and a couple of free target locks each turn.

Actually. Yeah it does. Action denial hurts the aces as well.

Played a dual yv list - lost 2 and won only once, because opponent was a less experienced player than myself, it was a fun game.

Comments welcome its was fun list to fly but do need something "scummy" to 180 degree face about - my butt does look big from behind.

Against an Awing ace list. Took out tycho really early but lost overall. Faced a better player than me but I made some dumb mistakes. Should have been closer. You learn much more from your defeats. And this one

Versus an Awing hawk mixed squad. Won this one convincingly. My opponent made a the mistake of revealing a red move whilst I had him stressed.

Observations

Okay. I am convinced. EU on a large ship with no K turn is great. Used it almost every turn.

Guner triggered maybe twice the entire night. I'm thinking of ditching it for the tourney.

K4 is amazing. With weapon engineer amazballs.

I used latts ability maybe twice but to really good effect. Used moralo hlc alot. Not sure what to take on Saturday. But both are fun. Can only hope wave 8 hits by store champs.

**** I love this ship. Not op (well not yet) and just so versatile.

Well I played this at the local tourney and went 2-2

Could have easily gone 4wins (though I was lucky to win the first match)

Glad I ditched gunner. Other thoughts

Getting boosk up to ps 9 was important to make best use of EU. Worked great. Plus going Moralo instead of Latts also important for ps and just throwing raw amount of red die.

Secondary weapons and big aux arc kept range 3 green dice and autothrusters under control.

Flew basically together 1 half a length ahead of the other but turn out of synch so they were at 45 degrees to each other when turning in. Maximising arc coverage. Destroyed a decimater in 2-3 rounds of firing. By using k4 and focus every turn. Even stress dealing did not cripple efficiency due to K4. Plus let K4 you measure range for the auto target lock to see if you were in range 2 for tactician. Though tactician wasn't amazing, was icing on the cake. Could be swapped out.

Also initiative bid was useful.

Generally alot of fun to fly.

Personally I prefer the Bossk crew card to the pilot.

I quite like this just for laughs. Hideously squishy but who cares? Hit hard, slow roll, repeat.

Weapons engineer on Latts has good synergy. I am finding gunner does not synergise with K4. One hopes you miss, the other minimises the chances of this. Kudos for flying the double 666
