so i own the base game but have only gotten a single play through and that was some time ago. I'm now looking at focusing on star wars games such as armada rebellion and imperial assault. My question is do I really need more then 1 of any expansion or would 1 be GOOD. Not sure if more then 1 is really a good/needed thing? not sure if there is any particular order I might want to focus on picking stuff up?
Starting to look at expanding my collection
I bought the core and added forces packs. I plan to get the Return to Hoth expansion soon. By all accounts it is the better of the two expansions. All of the forces packs come with additional material for the campaign and skirmish games. Eventually, I'll get the Twin Shadows.
BTW, I'm not into the meta, so I get what characters I like for casual games.
Currently own:
IA Core,
Han, Chewy, R2 & C3PO, X1 Rebel Troopers, Leia, X1 Saboteurs
IG-88, X1 Hired guns,
Royal Guard Champion
My next must purchase is Bobba Fett...
The important question is are you focusing on campaign or skirmish? That drastically changes the advice you get.
For the campaign, you are literally limited to a single instance of each expansion. Buying a second core set or a second stormtrooper expansion etc. doesn't let the imperial player take more deployment cards as their open groups. Also, the boxed sets will give you far more than the figure packs, per dollar spent, so long as you are fine with using the cardboard chits.
For skirmish you can double or even triple up on the expansions if you want to bring a bunch of the same unit, with the only limits being points, and a max of 4 reg (grey) and 2 elite (red) groups.
For the campaign there is only one pack which you can use as a double and that is the hired guns if you want to field the reg and elite version at the same time.
