Another great episode! Thanks guys!

While I think that Attanni mind link can have some pretty severe drawbacks, don't tell me Attanni mind link, Palob, Moldy Crow, and Manaroo don't bring a devilish smile to your collective face ;)

Looking forward to listening to this when I get off of work :)

Sekac ... that is a dirty combo. I love it :)

So glad everyone else got to hear it. I really am enjoying the pre-release unedited version on Patreon! You guys rock... and thank the stars Ricky finally remembered swoop bikes!

I played against this on vassal. It was rather good

Seriously it may have killed me if I couldn't remember. I consider myself at least a B+ level lore nerd in Star Wars. Certainly for anything before Chewie got crushed by a moon.

I may dislike that they wiped out the EU, but that book and the whole vuuzon vong no longer being a thing helps make up for that.

On a side note. I got hyped up after listening to Paul talk about Poe. So I took him to a tournament thinking he'd play well. HE DID NOT!

Poe didn't fail you! You failed Poe! :)

You need a Scum Poe... with a Horton Salm mustache!

Poe didn't fail you! You failed Poe! :)

Hard to argue with the man known as pheaver.

I have a pheaver
And the only prescription

is more cowbell

Poe didn't fail you! You failed Poe! :)

This sums up my feelings nicely.

Looking for to this one guys!

Thanks!

So this is something I'd like to discuss.

When is Red Ace the more preferable option to Poe?

So this is something I'd like to discuss.

When is Red Ace the more preferable option to Poe?

Maybe if you're pairing it with a highly defensive ship. If the other ship is too hard to kill, Poe becomes the easy target, and is gunned down too quickly. You sub Red Ace in to provide a target that can tank while something else also tanks or evades.

So this is something I'd like to discuss.

When is Red Ace the more preferable option to Poe?

That's something that I've been twisting around in my head as well and what I can come up with is if you have strong threats that you're still looking to pair with something. Red Ace loves NOT being the center of attention, since all of his shenanigans don't do so well under concentrated fire so if you have something big and mean (like say, a massive 4-dice attack beast rocking 16 HP) then Red Ace is a great way to surprise your opponent with how resilient he can be. Basically, he can be run a point or two cheaper than Poe and can do 2/3s of the same thing (outlast your opponent, and withstand an attack roll spike). Honestly, I find that Poe tends to draw a lot of hate (courtesy of pheaver) while Red Ace is much less of a target. And sometimes one point can really be the difference between including a ship or not so he's not better necessarily, he just fills a slightly different niche than Poe.

Though the two of them together makes my local group cry. Red Ace just WILL NOT die while Poe is busy mopping the floor with everyone else. If you haven't yet, give it a shot with a stresshog or even another t-70 if you're feeling dangerous. Biggs could also be fun as you're giving two already tanky ships extra tank :)

Its interesting you mention that because I like running Ace as the spear head of 3 ship rebel lists with stress hog. I suppose the stresshog getting hate goes a long way.

Imagine this ...

Poe, VI, R5-P9, Autothrusters, Comms Relay (40)

Red Ace, R2-D2, Integrated Astromech, Comms Relay (36)

Rebel Operative, Jan Ors, TLT (24)

Round 1 focus Poe to bank an Evade, and hit an asteroid with Red Ace to have a 50% shot at banking hers.

Don't forget, you have to start with the Stresshog (according to Paul Heaver and MajorJuggler), and yes, I'm liking running them together... as long as you don't get Dash in the mix.

I called mine the Fox and the Hound! (Largely based on the rumor that Red Ace is or could have been reported to be female... or maybe guessed at... who knows... no fact, but as it is a generic, it could go either way, so I'm choosing the gentler, deadlier form of the species)

Standard Poe with VI, R5-P9 and Autothrusters

Red Ace with Comms Relay and R2-D2

Stresshog

(99 points)

Bait and switch (so, tactically more Scum... call it Rebel Scum)!

I really like this. Of course integrated on Red Ace right?

Oops... yes... just in case... mostly so that R2 can survive and be picked up by C3P0 on some janky cruiser so he can make it into the next movie!

What would the flight lines of an ACE, Poe, Stresshog look like?

I put space between Poe and the other two and try to get my opponent to choose between Poe or Ace. Once they do, then shift hard and fast for positioning. That's the theory anyway. My theory went right out the window when Dash splashed down in the middle of the board. I'm not only reconsidering where I put Poe in at, but also what asteroids I'm bringing. What does your coach say you should do with it? Ha!

It's not gospel but I've had fun & good results with my SuperStressX in place of the stresshog:

Poe (VI, R5-P9, Autothrusters)

Red Ace (R2-D2, Integrated Astromech)

Red Vet (Wired, R3-A2, Integrated Astromech)

99 points

Doesn't throw as much stress, but is useful for more than the first pass and Wired really helps the StressX's offense and defense.

Hmm... but you are losing Comm Relay in that setup... I'll take the Y-Wing and hold on to the defensive token as often as possible! Not to mention being able to double stress, which is kinda important against some lists. Especially since this is only a 3 ship list... and that's one of the things that scares me about it... 3 fragile little ships... with a chance at regen...
