To the original question, look at other turret ships and the point cost. Look at other ships with the same point cost and compare the life count.

Miranda's worth was obvious, even if it flew like a HWK, so it appeared first.
Her use, however, taught people how to SLAM, so the Wardens came into their own.
The ability to disengage at will (with a 3+3SLAM) when things are looking bad, adds to everything said above. I've seen 1-hull Wardens cruise out of the fight to preserve MoV and/or wins in the late game.
