Store cham 1st place list

By droz69, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Tons of fun at my store championship tonight. 3 and 0 with 27 points.

I ran with a triple carrier list.

AFII-B w/Garm, Galant Haven, ECM

AFII-B w/Booster Coms

AFII-B w/Boosted Coms

Jan Ors

2x yt-1300

3x Awings

4x Bwings

Brutal. I used the Awings to lock down squads while my bwings and yts and jan worked on ships. Worked very well. In my first match i sacrificed the Galant Haven to force the opponent mc80 to not move and gave me the perfect swarm and kill shots with my other two carriers. 2nd match my opponent chose fleet ambush and deployed his gladiator right at the edge near my depmoyment and I proceeded to deploy everything i had right there with all my squads as well. It was gone before the end of the round. Third match could have gone very different except my opponent ended up running his mc80 right into my swarm for two rounds straight and i just ate him up.

Was a fun list to play, qould play it again. Key is to make those fighters work. They even did a good job of locking down a fireball.

What objectives did you take, and which ones were played?

I took fleet ambush, most wanted, and dangerous territory. The first match was superior positions,in which i racked up 9 tokens and my opponent got only 1. Second was fleet ambush. Third was firing lanes. In the third match, i had such a lead going into the match, that i took that as the lesser of three evils knowing that all i had to do was score at least 3 points to win, so i played it relatively safe, but kept the fighters aggressive. Worked out better than expected.

I feel like I'd be able to take this fairly well with a double ISD with its own fighter screen. Granted I would probably lose my fighters in the process and be unable to use them against you, but non-ECM, non-XI-7 whales don't seem that deadly to me.

The whales didn't do the most damage. My local Meta is very light on Fighters, which is why I went the way I did. Kept at long range and sent the fighters to do the job. The most I see is usually 5 or 6 squads. Lock em down and go from there.

Good list.

Garm....yep.

Space superiority ftw!
