I was just reading again and again thorugh the ship creator rules and I'm still confused about the Warpsbane Hull.

The rules say, all Essential Components may only applied once to a ship hull. E.g. you can only equip one Void Shield Array, or one Auger Array.

But whats about the Gellar Field and the Warpsbane Hull?

In the description for the Warpsbane Hull is written, that he reinforce the Gellar Field. But the Warpsbane Hull is in the category of Geller Fields.

So the question is: Does a Warpsbane Hull replace a Gellar Field? Or do you need a Gellar Field and a Warpsbane Hull if you would like to equip your ship with a Warpsbane Hull?

In this case, the Warpsbane Hull should be listed at Supplements Components, or?

The Warpsbane Hull is in addition to the Gellar Field. The Gellar Field generates the bubble of reality, the Warpsbane Hull is extra precaution. To be honest, it should really be a Supplemental Component, but there we are

I was reading it as the Warpsbane Hull not requiring a Gellar Field in addition, because it's an upgraded Gellar Field in the same way as a Vitae Pattern Life Sustainer is upgraded life support. The rules don't state either way, but the fluff text in the description of the Warpsbane Hull describes it generating a Gellar Field.

It's listed in the Gellar Fields section of the Essential Components, so therefore it counts as the ship's Gellar Field. If it was an addition to an existing Gellar Field it would be listed as a Supplemental Component.

Indeed. It's in the Essential Components list, which means it's a component in it's own right. If you read the description, it includes a Geller Field with it.

A Warpsbane Hull includes a Geller Field - no need to purchase one seperately.

Thanks for the answers. After reading the text very carefully again, I also got the passage with the projected gellar field. I made the mistake to think a Gellar Field was projected by the Imperial Saint but just 50m in diameter or even radius, what would be much to small to cover an entire Imperial Starship.

The 50m thing is just fluff so for the purpose of mechanics ignore it,

I was under the impression the "50m" related to the size of the statue of the saint, rather than the size of the field.

I see it now. I was reading it as "reinforce the Gellar Field", not "reinforce a Gellar Field"

They're **** useful too. Roll twice on warp encounters and pick? With a successful check early in flight, thats two 50% chances to get no encounters.
