There is a half second shot of the back of the head of an alien in the force awakens in Maz's place that I "think" looks like a bothan. Could be totally wrong though.

Rogue Two: Attack of the Bothans

I'll be happy if Wave 9 doesn't come out before August. Got a lot of uh transitioning going on between now and then. Don't need to worry about the next wave.

On the topic of those two movies though, anyone care to take a guess at when we'll see the first official Rogue One trailer?

Never! Though that could be because I'll sit in the cinema and refuse to look at the screen rather than have another film wrecked by trailers that show far too much.

I'm totally miserable when it comes to trailers, especially as the release date of a film approaches and they get more spoiler-y.

Save that the Force Awakens Trailer was actually a good trailer that told you almost nothing at all about the film. Yes, you learned (if somehow you lived without the internet for a year or more) that Han and Chewie were back.

The mouse has actually developed a very good talent for producing movie trailers that do not spoil the movies.

We are in the beginning of the 3rd Generation of Movie Trailers.

Generation 1 was Mr. Movie Tone and most trailers had the format of "In a World of..." or "in a Universe of..."

Generation 2 was the Dark Era where entire movie plots were told in 2 minutes.

Generation 3 is beginning by actually crafting suspense about the content of the film. This is the best era, but it is only just beginning, and some movies still follow the Gen 2 model.

Now TV trailers are something different... those are certainly worth avoiding in general. But then again so are all TV advertisements.
