Empire or Scum? SC ~4 Weeks

By Jisforjets, in X-Wing Squad Lists

This time I take a squad I have been practicing with!

I have played both of these builds a little bit, and would like to get on that practice your squad kick.

Scum 98

Xisor VI Title FCS AT

Talonbane Crack Glitter Homing Missile

Suhlak VI Glitter Homing Missile

PS9 alpha strike with Xisor on a really iffy PS bid to pick up the pieces. It works well vs aces and tie crack swarms IME.

Empire 100

Omega Leader Juke Comms

Vessery Crack Ion Cannon Hull

Yorr Darth Vader Gunner

I have only played it vs Lando plus Chewie, and 4 rebel control. Worked well in both instances. I am not sure if it can hold up. Of course, there is no denying a ridiculous gunner vader round breaks ace hearts. And Yorr's PS is sneaky vs generics. Clearly I am trying to defend the Empire squad too much... So take that for what it's worth.

Which one?

I'd go for

99 points Pilots

------

Prince Xizor (40) StarViper (31),

Push the Limit (3),

Virago (1),

Autothrusters (2),

Advanced Sensors (3)

N’Dru Suhlak (22) Z-95 Headhunter (17),

Cluster Missiles (4),

Veteran Instincts (1)

Talonbane Cobra (37) Kihraxz Fighter (28),

Predator (3),

Glitterstim (2),

Engine Upgrade (4)

I think your scum build is more interesting. The imperial one will work well against some stuff, but will do poorly against others. If you are concerned that 98 is not enough of a bid, you could always switch TBC's homer for a concussion to bring it to 97. Guidance chimps will be a no-brainer addition when they become available (might be in time if its 4 weeks away? I dunno).

Edit: Removed poor commentary. forget what I said earlier take the scum list its awesome.

Took your scum list for a spin twice today only changing VI for crack on N'dru. Its a sweet list but not much room for pilot error. Cobra was an animal accounting for 2 ships and all but 1 hull on vader before he went down to a last second change up on his dial.. aka error. MIght be my new favorite TBC build.

My main critique now is that xizor is a little fragile on his own yet the other two ships are pretty important so passing wounds isn't always what I wanted to do.

To be honest, aside from the PS 9 I would just rather take Guri rather then Xizor. Tool her out have her as the super sticky cleanup crew; she just throws herself right into the path of shots, gains focus from being right in the thick of things and draws shots from the more frail glass cannon Cobra. Take accuracy corrector if concerned about getting people in arc and just have her hit people for 2 damage, constantly.

That being said, I haven't tried it out. So I might do. Cobras mileage varies for me, but that Z-95 is lethal.
