My review of Deadpool....

By T70 Driver, in X-Wing Off-Topic

Well over here in good old Blighty age limits Arnt just a recommendation like in the colonies.

Most places I've been to will refuse to sell a ticket to someone under 17 to a R movie, if their parent's are there. But that won't stop a 13 year old for getting in if mom or dad is there.

I got no problem with someone taking a 12 year old to Deadpool if that's what they want to do. Their kids, their call... But I get fairly incensed when they get upset about what they've exposed their kids to.

Again it's like video games... You see people wanting chain stores like Walmart or Target to stop selling violent video games, because apparently they're too freaking lazy to look up the rating and see if the game is appropriate or not.

Oh Boohoo ;) If you're 12 and you can't handle Deadpool... They've probably heard much worse language on Southpark (the bigger longer and uncut movie was rated "all" when it came out in Belgium- go figure.) and seen much worse violence on the news. As usual it's not the kids who are to blame its Canada the parents.

I was watching robocop and predator at 8...Well the first half then 40 minutes of news would send me to sleep around 10pm.

Eventually we got a vcr and I got to watch the whole movie.

Yes I'm that old, you kids today don't know how good you got it with your streaming videos on multiple devices...now git off my lawn!

If a 12 year old can handle Deadpool is up to the parents, but it's likely that if parents won't let their 12 year old see Deadpool they won't let them watch Southpark either.

My issue is when someone says 'hey it's a superhero movie' and don't bother to look at the rating and then gets upset.

I remember for my 10th birthday we rented a VCR which back then was like $40 for the day and $40 as a damage deposit. Tron was a fairly new release to VCR then.

It is amazing how quickly we take things like streaming video on our phones for granted though.

I still have VHSs. Stupid slowly converting my Godzilla collection to blu-ray.

Tron was the very first store bought movie we ever owned on video tape. It was for our Betamax.

International women's day just won't be the same...

Yes. that was briljant. Halloween was good to.

Is it just me or does Ajax Francis look like the player character from Psi Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy?

I don't know if civil war can top deadpool but I know for sure suicide squad and man o steel 1.5 won't.

Saw it last night. I loved it. Gave up X-wing to see it.

I am near a hearth attack, after watching this. Laugh and laugh, and even more. And Morena Baccarin as a plus. One of the best crazy films I remember.

I loved it. my wife can't stop laughing.

Just got out of a Deadpool showing and have just two words to describe it.....FREAKING AWESOME!!!! When I saw how the opening credits were done, I knew they had done it right. Multiple 4th wall breakage, including a 4th wall break INSIDE of a 4th wall break. Whoever they got to voice Colossus was perfect for the role. Best superhero film ever? Maybe not but this one is right up there with it.

Oh and it's definitely NOT a film you can bring your kids to. The R rating is well deserved.

I would say its a hard R rating so don't bring the Kids..

I haven't been that happy with a movie top-to-bottom since the first Iron Man movie. It was so goddamned perfect. Even when a joke was kinda dumb it was still so perfectly Deadpool that I didn't mind one bit.

Last time I laughed this hard in a super hero movie was with the Avengers: Thor deadpanning how Loki's adopted and The Hulk punching him and the whole "puny god" bit. But Deadpool is entirely of the funny/awesomeness.

I loved Ryan Reynolds' self deprecation.

"D'you think Ryan Reynolds got this far on his acting abilities?"

"Just don't give me a green suit and CG." - or something like that .. a burn on Green Lantern.

.. and a shout out to the opening credits.

As someone who has zero interest in the Marvel universe, will probably never see Batman vs Superman, another Avengers, Spiderman, Captain America, etc movie I thoroughly enjoyed this.

I'd re-watch again when it hits Blu-Ray. I also enjoyed Antman (not re-watcher but fun) and Guardians of the Galaxy. As standalone films they were enjoyable for me.

And Baccarin ... whhoooaa. She is (and has been since Firefly) 'my get-out-of-jail-free Celebrity'. Didn't like her in V but when she has those long brown curls .. I melt. My wife puts Ryan Reynolds in her top 5 so it was the perfect film for us.

Overall score: 4 crits and a hit out of 5 .. no evades or focuses necessary.

Don't lump awful DC universe movies in with good Marvel Universe movies. (Fat)Batman v Superman looks to be as bad as the previous Superman film was. DC characters are wholly uninteresting 2 dimensional clichés.

Marvel has depth.

Deadpool seems to be the only charcter having fun (even with him worrying about his looks and revenge)

Tony Stark and Rocket Racoon come close, but the rest of them... Ho boy! Mope. Angst. Responsability. Law. More angst. Mope. Whine. Mope. Ohnoz ah haz supah powerz! ...

Spiderman IS the posterchild of "great power means great responsability", and Batman? I'm gonna let the Joker explain the Batman, Take it away Mr. J!

Nah marvels been winning that for decades even before the movies.

In fact the only reason WB didn't sell off DC comics was they saw marvels success.
