Hobbie stress

I don't like y-wings and TLT's don't feel great to me so this is my list to make eadan vrill feel powerful. Ideally I get Eden to block a high value target getting it ioned and hobbie then locks in that stress. If eaden messes up the block hopefully he has a 4 dice range one shot on the target he was trying to block after hobbie puts the stress on. Poe is there because he fits well and is generally good.

I know someone will say swap out hobbie for a y-wing but I personally prefer the manoverabilty and 3 dice primary of an x-wing.

What I am looking for is any ideas instead of poe that would work good or eaden upgrades I should consider.

Thanks.

Also I am aware that I am in the minority thinking tlt is not very good, I can't remember ever loosing to a list with a tlt in it (and I am only a 50% win guy) and everytime I have tried them I have feelt horribly underwhelmed.

I think your reasoning is sound and the list could work as you hope. Give it a try!

As for upgrades, I think intel agent is the only thing that would be nice to add, but as you say, if you miss the block, Eaden possibly will get a good shot in, so I think it is fine as is.

Poe is good but I would be tempted to give him PTL instead of Predator. You really want Poe to Focus each turn (especially with R5-P9). PTL gives you the option to take a second action (most often Boost) when you really need to without giving up your Focus Bonus.

i have only ever run him with predator being forced into greens scares me with the x-wing dial but it might be worth a shot.

Poe without R2-D2 is beat

Pfft. Poe works just fine without R2D2.

If you can find the points give Hobbie Flechette torpedoes. That way the first thing you go after gets 2 Stress. It's a good way to shut down aces like Soontir before they get to arc dodging range.

I use a Bwing with Tactician instead Poe. I keep the Bwing in formation to Hobbie.

Poe works better with R5-P9 than he does R2-D2

Not really.

Basically, whichever one you choose, you've chained Poe to something. R5-P9 means Poe is basically stuck taking focus action all game long (or at least, you feel that pressure to do so). For R2-D2, you feel pressured to take green maneuvers, but your action choice is open. So they can both be predictable, just in two different ways.

R5-P9 is 1 point cheaper, but is easier to 'shut down' (stress, blocking, Carnor Jax & Palob all can make Poe a sad panda). Its a toss up really, you have to decide what is more important to you (being stuck with focus actions or being stuck with green moves----of course I'm exaggerating a bit, in either case, you're not 'stuck', but if you really want that regen, there's that pressure to be predictable).

For this reason, I really like Asty better. His ability does not create an artificial 'limit' that leads to predictability (quite the opposite in fact).

Poe is taking a focus action anyways for his ability.

I could see the argument for R2-D2 on a ptl poe as you have to green move anyways but on a predator poe I can't be locked to green moves so R5-P9 is a much better choice.

The flacheyte torpedo idea is interesting just to force down 2x stress on a small target. If the ion projector doesnot work out I may try that.

When it arrives, I'd drop the Ion Projectors in exchange for Zeb, allowing you to block and shoot.
