Darth Vader = Not all powerful

By eggman84, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

So I got to thinking. If a Jedi's abilities are measured by the amount of metachlorians (however you spell it) in thier blood, then should Darth Vader be less powerful?

Reason being, he lost a lot of blood in his fight with Obi-Wan, that and a few limbs. With that blood loss comes a decrease in the overall metachlorian count. So how is it that he is still really powerful?

You have too much time on your hands.

This is actually brought up in the Legacy novel 9-book series. Lumiya mentions it and says she doesn't think Vader ever understood it, but she, being a cyborg, is aware of her own limitations in the Force and so she is seeking a person to be the new Sith Lord since she can't do it herself.

Seriously, this is some heresy level 9000 stuff. The prequels never happened. The Force is not some midi-nonsense, and Lucas should be hit with rotten eggs everytime he ventures out in public for that garbage.

Hey look now, I don't like it any more then you do. Lol

The prequels never happened.

As Lor San Tekka (the old guy at the beginning of Force Awakens) said, "You cannot deny the truth that is your family."

The prequels are part of the Star Wars family. Not everyone has to like them, but we do have to include them. Even when they make mistakes.

The funny thing is the the Force before the prequels was seen as a mystic force.

The prequels come out and try to give the Force a scientific base with the midistuff.

Then the Clone Wars series plants a mystic force behind the development of midistuff in the first place. Now we are back full circle. Thank you Clone Wars.

I really enjoyed Clone Wars. I also appreciated the way that they took genetically identical clones and gave them very distinct personalities and characteristics. I felt this was first exemplified in the episode with the Second Battle of Geonosis (which was also a great war film-like episode), when you saw all of the graffiti on the transports and the troopers' armor.

I don't remember where it was, but I remember reading somewhere about the emperor being somewhat disappointed because vader got gimped almost immediately, which crippled his ability with the force, so the emperor didn't get this god level powerful lackey that he wanted.

Of course, anakin was so strong with the force that even crippled he was still one of the strongest users ever.

That was the junior novelization of ROTS.

However - the newcanon seems to be moving away from that - portraying Vader's injuries as not affecting his power - with him actually being (eventually) stronger than before ( Lords of the Sith ).

And he was pretty insane-o pants on Rebels for the few episodes he was there. Although the plot didn't make tons of sense. . .

"These Jedi rebels are such a threat that I, Lord Vader, must directly intervene."

"I failed to capture or kill them. Okay, well, I'll just leave and send some lackeys who are nowhere near as powerful as I am to take care of it."

Well, that definitely wasn't where I read it. I actively avoided novelizations of films after phantom menace.

Well I imagine Vader is a very busy guy. He probably just had some time to kill while the team was being thrown together.
