Flying a stresshog

Tricks for catching Aces with this? Especially against good players who are good at arc dodging?

Asteroid placement is huge, try to get your opponent down to two approach lanes. I place a rock at the extreme edge of range 3 of each board edge and deploy in that corner. Flying out of a pinwheel you can. 1 forward, 2 hard toward the center of the board and then 2 hard back towards your opponents edge with your whole formation, so you don't have to commit until the last possible moment. If they don't come to you with any of thier formation they're probably circling thier deployment area. Wait for em to be facing the wrong way and you can jump all over them.

Also, remember that you don't actually have to use R3-A2 if you don't need to. I had a match last night where my opponent was flying a Scum swarm, and it wasn't worth putting stress on Binarye pirates when I figured I could just kill them with my cannons.

I actually got to K-turn my Stresshog in that match. It was amazing.

Sometimes it's better to not stress something and just K-Turn next turn and then start the weaponized stress shenanigans.

The biggest problem I have running a Stresshog is that it rarely gets to attack in two separate rounds. It may as well have Biggs Darklighter in the pilot seat with a Bothan gunner in a red shirt manning the turret.

Even if that turns out to be the case you've paid 1 more point than you would have for a naked Biggs but you've presumably planted 2 stress on an opponent ship. Depending on the given ship the Stresshog will have inflicted more negative effects than Biggs would have while keeping your other ships clean. It's circumstantial but the Stresshog seems far more valuable in your example.

Make sure your arc is in a place where dodging it keeps them from getting that sweet shot on your ace. Even if you never actually get a shot on Soontir Fel with a TLT stresshog, that just means there's a huge slice of pie in the middle of the mat where he is never going. Win win.

Yeah. The lesson of Biggs is that 25-30 points is an acceptable price to pay to make sure you and your opponent agree on where he or she is going to shoot first. And the stresshog carries such a substantial additional benefit when compared to Biggs that it's not hard to see why it ends up in so many Rebel lists.

The hog is nasty. That said if you find your having problems using it effectively drop the title. Seriously, plenty of ships are neutered fairly hard anyway by a single stress (or more if adv sensors/bb8 etc).

At the least you can keep ships with PtL honest and you retain the full turret. If you have 2 pts spare throw a stresspedo on it. TL won't happen immediately but its an alternative.

Also, instead of laser noises, make noises like the main gun on an a10, it goes a long way

So...a loud long drawn out fart noise.
