Regionals and Nationals

By jhox, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi all, UK player here, as that may be relevant.

At the expense of sounding like a member of Glee club, how does one find out about and book for regional tournaments? Have dates even been announced yet? Am I missing something?

I guess the same question goes for Nationals, too.

Generally, Nationals, internationally, are held at the behest of the Distributor...

Now, in the UK, I believe that Elsvidium, or however you spell it, have announced they'll be hosting nationals again this year. There was a post a couple of days ago, I'll see if I can find it...

... and I did:

Regionals have not been decided on as of yet. Stores were only required to get Nominations in to hold Regionals by February 3rd, so its only really been a Week since then... At least here in Canada, we'll be waiting at least another week before we find out, which is fine... Our local Store champs isn't until the end of the Month...

The store Championship season runs until the end (?) of March... Jan-March...

Thank you! No idea how I missed that one...

Will keep an eye out for regionals, in that case.

I'm expecting that Esdevium will post something similar to their Store Championship map once Regionals are announced:

They're the UK distributor and I believe the decision is with them as to who gets to host the Regionals so keep an eye on their Facebook, Twitter, or the Armada UK/IRL Facebook group as they post info like this up there too.

That's the nice thing about living near the Twin Cities in MN... I always know where my regionals will be. They'll be at the FFG event center.

Is there a typical spot for Regionals in the Southeastern US?

Yep. My wife asked if they were going to be somewhere far away. Lol. Nope, just the 20 minute drive.

Here's the list from last years X-Wing Regionals. It may not be quite the same for Armada this year but it should give you an idea.

Edit had problems with it parsing the link correctly.

If we win regionals then it's straight on to sectionals and then a week later is semis, then semi-regionals, then regional-semis, then national lower-zone semis.

;)

What are regionals?

What are regionals?

They're just around the corner!

What are regionals?

They are the regional championships. Like store championships, but bigger. Like the National Championship but smaller.

Funny, the guys at the one store in Philly were discussing this at their store championship a week ago. The consensus was that they seem to rotate through stores in the area. At least that is the X Wing trend in Southern NJ/Philly.

I know that, I was continuing the Community (TV show) reference from posts 9-10

Ah, well then I didn't know that.

For my next trick in going to make myself look dumb.

Well that would make you one of today's lucky 10,000 to learn about this particular joke.
