As the title suggest, I'm wondering what's a more practical addition to a 2-ship build (Slaver and Tel Trevura) - I've got 12 points to spare, cannot decide.
Punishing One or Binayre Pirate
Punishing One - 1 extra attack die that persists until Tel dies; adds offensive capability to a defensive pilot. (Obvious)
Binayre Pirate - 2 extra attack die, 4 extra health, blocking; adds little extra firepower (you might be able to get some damage through with 2 atk dice) but mainly adds defense, as you can block, and when your opponent is shooting at the pirate, he/she is not shooting at either of your other ships. If flown right, while the pirate is inevitably ignored, you could line up 1 or 2 Range 1 attacks, or perform some blocks.
Personally, I'd take the Z. With Tel, you're trying to survive longer (I assume) and adding the Title makes Tel a bigger and more rewarding target. Adding a blocker makes your list more defensive.
If you were running more ships I'd say the Pirate for sure, but if you have just a Slaver and Trevura then you really want Tel to make those points back and the title is the way to make that happen.
edit: a word and also what does your list look like?

But then, if you wind up with just your bin lorry against the likes of Soontir, you're stuffed anyway so...

That's why my defensive Tel has R5-P8 and Feedback array. Have decent odds of soontir killing himself with R5-P8 before he can kill Tel. And if he screws up and gets into range 1, hey another free damage.
