Has anyone considered that the reason that there has not been an announcement regarding Wave 3.....is that there may not be a Wave 3?
OK, where's the unlike button? >.<

I really wonder if they're just waiting for another ship or two to pop up on Rebels. The hammerhead corvettes just appeared, and there're the screenshots of the wedge-shaped ship that'll be appearing soon. So maybe we have to wait for season two to end. And maybe they learned their lesson and won't announce a wave six months in advance, because it kills that initial wave of excitement.
There are a lot of manufacturing possible holdups as well. Be it straight up capacity or perhaps working around design defects of a run. It's possible we have a hold due to IP issue with Rebels or even Rogue One.
Considering they just did a reprint of wave 1 ships, I'm pretty sure they are just in a manufacturing loop hole...don't wanna mega hype and leave us holding the bag.
No news, is good news.
Yet hey guys, there is no excuse for us to have unpainted ships...
Yes, people wave III is in the works. The sales exceeded expectations. In all honesty, I think they have the ships in production but are waiting to see how the ships and upgrade cards hold up. Think of all the ships that are not really tournament viable in X-wing and required fixes. I believe they are attempting to get a better pulse on the game so fewer mistakes are made. There are a lot of cards that would be played more often in Armada if they were priced right. Some cards are really good ideas theoretically, but at 400 points just cost 2,3,4,5 points too much. FF can print cards quickly so it makes sense to get working on the ships and at the last minute print the cards and upgrades after more feedback. I would like to see more cards priced right and am willing to wait for that. Clearly tons of cards don't see service. Certain cards I play with causally when I creat both side and let the visitor pick p, but would never bring those out otherwise. The again maybe they don't care if they produce crap and are using the same production line as X-wing and the retooling time it huge. Given their apathy toward the rules I would pn't put it past them. But I betting on the better outcome.

I don't know I see more stuff that should have been left along than good stuff so pease flood these people with product so they stop ruining their stuff...you know all the pin stripping down by hand without frog tap and stuff painted ...fill in the blank...that make you go OMFG...what where you thinking. Seriously, the rule of painting these ships should be like Star Wars. First do no harm. DO NO HARM.

Isn't it one use, besides?

Yeah, but you get more than one use out of it... Haha
Cluster Bombs. . . . Worst. Card. Yet.
Um. So, Confession Time...
I used Cluster Bombs effectively yesterday.
Because no-one expected my Dual Assault MonCal List to be packing ECMs and Cluster Bombs.
I killed Rhymer with it at the start of his activation, as he'd been weakened by anti-squadron fire.
It threw off my opponents whole Squadron Turn, as he no longer had the range to strike me with the rest of his Rhymer Ball...
Best 5 Points I could have Spent at that point in time. If anything it was to watch my opponent try to pick his jaw up off the ground, and then the swearing it engendered... All light-hearted of course... But it was just... There are no expectations with that card, but given your enemies underestimate of them, they have the potential to pay back so much more.
Well it clear that ffg doesn't read the forums. In fact i believe by the time 3rd wave comes out we have the ships via shapeways and such.
Really need to start blasting them on fa ebook and email

I wish we just knew what they wanted to release...anything holding me up on a shapeways order.

Is this based on some sort of concrete evidence? Or is this optimistic speculation based upon FFG's behavior prior to the merger?

James Kniffen leaking that he was testing Wave 4 during his commentary at Worlds this year, perhaps?

I'm sure FFG has tested many games and concepts that have never actually ended up seeing the light of day.
Edited by Cutter9999Well, as far as the actual existence of wave three and four....I'll believe it when I see it.

At what point cost would this be worth it to you. That is the question with these cards. The idea can be decent or good but the cost makes it unpalatable. I think for 2 points this becomes very attractive.

When we get 3 blue dice or even red dice Anti-squadron, this card may become a premium.

Friend at Aether con IV in November heard from two reps in November that the wave was held up but definitely being produced. No explainations etc was given. He basically said something to the effect, " I know you can't give out detail but can you at least confirm there will at some point be a wave III for Armada because I know some people are nervous. An industry friend of a friend working for Adepicon in March April ask basically the same thing. Of course, I didn't hear it directly but I trust my friend and imagine my other friend has very reliable friends from what I know about him. But forget hearsay from me, lets turn to money.
As far as sales numbers that are on the Internet. Cool stuff, for example, had it their number one profit generator for 2015 so that says mountains as to the viability of predicting the future far more than what people may, or may not have said. Considering how much they discount to compete with Cardhaus, miniature market etc. that means a lot that even despite the huge discounts it was their number one profit maker. Money talks and bs (hearsay) walks...right? If a company is selling a lot of product, what would be their reason to stop? It is very probable that the number of broken ships and cost problems associated with X-wing is not as high in Armada because these larger ships are much more durable and can be more reliably handled by the robotic painting arms. I hear 1/10 X-wing ships don't past muster because the machines, robotic arms, that grab them in the assembly line to paint them miss the mark to often either break them or paint them incorrectly--I can't remember if it was breaking them or miss painting them, or both. Regardless, it would be much, much easier for the robots to grab larger items correctly. Knowing a thing or to about robotics, having designed a remote robotic observatory and spending one summer in college working on a massive assembly line, I am fairly certain the large size ships and mounting holes reduces breakage and other production problems. I imagine they are using the same factory to produce armada as X-wing (I don't know this for sure...just a guess) and the turn over time for switch out the tool and dye machines, reprogramming, swapping out robotic arms with either new robotics parts or robots in the lines is time consuming. The switch can be done quickly after it has been done several times and also depends on how tight of a ship they run. If they are a 24 7 factory with 12 hour shifts with people working 4/3s then there is a much more important reason for speed due to the cost of personnel downtime. The personnel would be sent to other lines and cross trained during this time but that is still expensive. It also depends on the various production lines. Since demand for specific product (ships) is different, the lines might finish at different times even if they are able to match several ships on each line that when combined will finish in the end approximately at the same time--say long run of Tie/fo matched with short runs of ships like Starviper to another line with different production time tables ending at the required time. They might also stagger the end of production on lines so the engineers can swap out one line at a time. That usually makes the most sense when possible to keep the number of engineers on hand down to a minimum. Of course, I don't know the labor laws in China. Maybe they just send the workers home without pay while stuff gets switched out. Obviously, X-wing is going to take precedent. However, they would have several lines running at the same time with almost identical hardware making different ships. Clearly several lines remains open for X-wings in between wave releases and reprints but it would make good business sense to keep the other lines running with Armada after an X-wing wave is finished. The processes are so similar it is brilliant business model I imagine for the lines to be able to producing multiple product lines with little to no down time in between except switching out the components that are needed for the new line. The modification are likely small, like changing the hand of a robotic arm.
As far as are they in production at the moment? That is a guess, but given the latest wave for X wing has been in the boat for around 7-8 weeks the production switch overs would have been done long ago at the factory. My educated guess is that Armada ships have been in production for they are not announcing "in production because" they haven't figured out the stats yet etc. once the ships are made they can sit them off to the side and get the lines switched over to the next scheduled item.
There are just too many reasons to think that FF would not produce Armada based on sales. Without at least two more waves, they strongly jeopardize the future sales of their current wave and even more importantly would receive an enormous back lash from all the players would spent 500-800 on Armada ships and accessories. I couple more waves would make the game feel complete to me. Until then I would feel so betrayed as to never buy a single thing from them again. They would also jeopardize and future launches of games anything like this as people would become gun shy after the "Armada Incident."
Hard to argue with someone with your experience. Do you take it sometimes? Which 5-7 cards do you think are priced wrong either costing too much or too little? What card would you take a lot if it was 2 or 3 points lower but would never take given the current point cost?
Actually, I think 5 points is ok for it.Cluster Bombs. . . . Worst. Card. Yet.

With regards to the Cluster Bombs, I think it's annoying close to being a good card. Imagine if the wording was slightly different, only requiring you to exhaust it rather than discard it when you use it. This would result in an upgrade that is limited to attacking one squadron per turn rather than one squadron per game, which I think could be a lot more interesting.

I think that so far they have priced most cards well for the growth of the game. Some titles like Redemption, Warlord, Independence, and such are a couple points over BUT that is likely because they did not realize how different and difficult the builds like Regen would be.
Most cards can fit in a build if you have a plan for them.
