www.talismanisland.com/expansions.htm
Jon added my first translated into English expansion. Idea of translating it from Polish into English came to me from this topic: www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp - "Adding New Options to Spaces... and How?"
Chaos Expansion Set generally provides few cards that are changing the Talisman's reality. Originally it had just 13 cards, however due to Clock Expansion Set, which provided additional 5 cards, now the total value of them is 18. These cards can be used in a serious game, however if You like to laugh from time to time, You will like them more.
Because some of my cards are very detailed and long, I was forced to look for a ways to cut some repetitive sentences in order to for not having cards written in <size 3>, where <size 7> is default (nota bene I have few cards with <size 3>...). That includes:
"fight" which is equal to "battle and psychic combat"
"LHO" which is equal to "Left Hand Opponent" - a player on our left side, mostly a player of the left side of the player who is encountering given effect.
"effect" is anything that happen during the game and affect certain aspects of the game (cards, movement, turn, abilities of Characters &c). Attack is not an effect, as well as phases.
Now I'll say some words about certain cards.
Chaos-1 is not really my card, it is from French Magazine - Heraut Citadel. I could say, it is a "father" of this set.
On 1-2, these new cards remains on the board as a face down cards, until someone will decide to encounter given space and turn up them.
On 3-4, players are giving all the cards, apart of Character card.
on 5-6, players keeps everything they have, unless their new alignment forbid them from having certain Objects/Followers.
Chaos-3 doesn't really need Continuum Expansion Set. If You already have it (soon I'll translate it as well), that card affect them too. If not, it affect just normal special abilities printed on the Character card. Generally Continuum cards are abilities that, when they came into play, has toss a Fate effect. Black Fate usually is a deadly bad effect, Light Fate is a very good effect. Continuum cards can be a prize in any fight, then a winner player won't take a Life or any other card, but only, if winner's attack roll was higher than defeated Character's attack roll. All other effects that affect abilities are also affecting Continuum cards.
Chaos-4 might be a very dangerous card. Remember, that all Spells are being cast in the exactly same time, so no one Spell has priority over another Spell. If given Spell's effect gives possibility to use it only on own cards, You still can use it on other Character cards. Some Spells will not work, which magic You would not use, but mostly, even if its effect could be weird or sometimes fairy impossible in given timing - will.
Chaos-8, may be used not only for Necromancer (prototype of Talisman) board. If You don't have it, it might move You to another board, for example to Dungeon Entrance untill all other Characters will emerge from it through Treasure Chamber. After that card is encountered, no one else can go to any other Realm, after last Character from the Dungeon Realm will leave it, You may put it back into the Talisman box.
Tornado of Chaos, all of these "comes-into-play" effects are encountered in the same time, no one effect has priority over another.
Time Storm takes all the cards from all the boards and discard pile, but not from the removed-from-the-game zone. When You will go back to the Castle space, and You will still have cards, remaining ones put starting from the City and repeat card's first effect, until You will have no those cards. Spell cards on the spaces are face up ones, however they are "under sleeping" until any Character will encounter the space with them. Then they are being cast, ignoring timing and all other restrictions. If it is not possible to bring the effect into play by any meaning, it is discarded. All these Spells are being cast by the Character who is encountering them, and they are not affecting number of the Spells that Character can cast in given turn.
Time Compression is discarding Alternative Ending card as well. If You are playing for example with Warlock Quests, for every remaining Quest You are getting the prize, however once You will complete more than 1 Warlock Quest, You cannot take new one, if You already are holding 1 Warlock Quest.
Time War is a card that is saying about one of aspects of my Talisman storyline. It appeared in Clock Expansion Set for the first time, and it is mostly about that War between two worlds. Vanished cards are going into removed-from-the-game zone.
Awakening of Chaos, these Enemies has both of parameters equal to either one. If given card has both Strength and Craft, You can freely choose Yourself from which one You will be using.
Apostle cards belong to Doom Trooper Expansion Set, and are: That Which Is Not To Be Named, Ilian, Algeroth, Semai, Demnogonis, Muawijhe and Golgotha. They have cumulative effects with Chaos cards, and generally are affecting certain aspects of the game. Clocks, from Clock Expansion Set, are Magic Objects from That World that are measuring certain aspects of Both Worlds. Mostly they are destructive for all of Characters, but for some, who want to sell their soul for devil, they might get something from them. More or less they are four riders of Apocalypse (however there is more Clocks than just 4).
Generally I'm wishing You having a nice games with these cards. They are very good, if You and Your players like hard games. With my cards, almost all the Talisman games are hard, You will pray for drawing a Demon with Craft 10 than any of my cards. Luckily I like Talisman games on Nightmare Mode.
Happy playing
