First Tounament list

By Ulfhednar, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Even worse, it will be the very first play of the game for me. I've played Wings/Sails of Glory, so not entirely unfamiliar with the concept - writing it off to fun rather than being competitive.

So, the current list I have is entirely whim rather than any knowledge of it being cohesive:

Keyan/B-Wing: Advanced Sensors, Stay on Target (34)

Jake/A-Wing: Chaardian Refit, A-Wing Test Pilot, Veteran Instincts, PtL, Auto-Thrusters (28)

Poe/X-Wing: BB-8, PtL, Autothrusters (38)

100 points

Then reality set in: nope, no Autothrusters. I suppose the expedient thing to do is just to buy the Star Viper, but I've already broke the budget (at least with Sails of Glory, you only need representative examples of a few types of ships, even if that still isn't exactly cheap) and would just as soon put that off until another day. So, four points spread around in a useful fashion...or maybe toss the A-Wing for a Y-Wing and TLT and maybe a droid of some kind? So, suggestions welcome (preferably not throw more money at it).

Then reality set in: nope, no advice. Well, at least one of the dealers at the con had a buy two, get third one free, so yes, now I have Autothrusters.

If you have the rebel aces pack you can give the b wing the e2 upgrade giving it a crew and then give him kyle katarn so every time he removes a stress he gains a focus and he can get rid of stress too which is a nice combo.

I like your list personally. Its extremely mobile so you should be able to focus fire effectively and possibly outfly even higher ps ships. Downside is its also very fragile and lacks some punch. I've flown each of these builds and often in conjunction with each other although not altogether. One mistake and your down a ship. I'd say jake doesn't hit hard enough for my tastes without prockets or outmaneuver or juke so your other two ships will get focused down quicker. One option would be the ubiquitous stresshog in his place freeing up some points and making decisions a little harder on your opponents but try it and see what needs fixing..

The basic idea is to either arc-dodge, or get in tight on TLT ships. I suspect that I'll have to lose more than a few times to get the movement and timing down for that kind of thing, but if I wanted an easier beginner option, I could have gone for TLT mini-swarm. But yes, the thing I wonder about is lack of punch and fragility.

You could go VI and R2D2 on Poe. That way you have a ship with some staying power and that can react to most other pilots.

Alas, one VI and that's on Jake. No R2D2 yet. Probably will take a month off from new purchases and play what I have for now. I'll have to figure out the signature thing that lists what I have...

..and there it is now!

I was going to comment on your list, but sometimes my tablet crashes or does weird things, so I think it got swallowed up and never made it.

Anyway, the list in your first post is good----doesn't really need 'improvement', imho.
