Gonk has lived quite a storied life. After being tortured in Jabba's palace, he escaped and joined the Resistance.
Did he have a change of heart from his Scummy ways? Or is he infiltrating them for his own ends?

In all honesty, though, Pain is a useful thing to program, as it allows the being in question to detect damaging situations, and comes with a built-in avoidance system.

So what about a Contracted Scout + Feedback Array + Gonk?
Takes 2 ion tokens to ionize a large ship, and with a bit of buffering allows you to regenerate the damage Feedback does.
Seems like 4 points to keep aces out of range 1 is probably worth it.

Interesting quirk: It doesn't specify a limit to the number of tokens Gonk can pile up. Good thing that one of the few things we have even more tokens of than stress tokens is shield tokens, huh? You'll be outpiling Tycho's piles in no time! 
More seriously: It's pretty dang powerful; so long as you get the pre-battle actions, you've got persistent Evades that stack up and (much like R2) will shut down gunner, etc. Great on a Punishing One. Could be an interesting pick for a non-crow HWK. Not sure Mist Hunters or Slavers have the agility to justify multi-action-per-hitpoint... but there could certainly be combos in there, especially on the heavily flexible Slavers.
Still, this is the second 'avoid fighting as long as practical' upgrade in the game, with the Moldy Crow being the first. Do they risk slowing the game down? Probably not; you still need to kill your opponent in the end. But it'll be interesting to see how much stalling people will do.

Well EV-9D9's (Jabba's torture droid) short story indicated that she had installed pain circuits in all her "acquisitions"... Legends or no, that's as good a reason as any. Though why it went from verbalizing "Gonk!" to "nononono" is curious...

Comms Relay is regeneration and FOs are the best ships for it.
