damage controls face up card

By thanosazlin, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

does this stack. opponent had 2 of these on a ship face up and thought they stacked, i thought they did NOT stack that would be very crappy ;) , even though it would help me. so he would have taken 1 facedown for a ram, then 2 more face down because he had 2 Damage Controls face up on the ship??

Damaged Controls x2 - Crew - When you overlap a ship or obstacle, deal a face down damage card to your ship (in addition to all other obstacle effects)

I would say yes. Each card would trigger and stack.

Reason behind this is just like Power Failure. They would be separate instances that would look to see if the event occurred.

"In Addition to all other obstacle effects."

Including a Duplicate of the Card that says you take a face down damage card when you overlap a ship or obstacle.

If you had 2 of the Damaged controls cards, I see no reason why this would not mean: "Hitting a ship netting you in 3 face down damage cards...."

Additional clarification, if you were to run into him with your ship, I believe it would just be the one. If he runs into you, it would be 3.

It does state "you" which means that ship. So if someone rams you, you only take 1

If the Ship with the 2 Face up Damaged Cards, Let's nickname it " Firebrand" ... is the one who is Active and Maneuvering - hitting an Obstacle or an Enemy Ship will net you 3 cards.

However, if someone hits Firebrand with something else, call it, Bumpy ... Then Firebrand will only take 1, just the same as Bumpy.

"You" in the rules really does mean "This Ship".

Yes, you would apply both face-up damage effects. Doesn't matter that they are the same.

thanks all, i was just trying to be a good sport so be it :)
