But, in the same vain as the "What preview will be out today?" thread, lets quickly turn from this awesomeness and move forward to the next thing to whine about, because that's what we do best.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY AND IS NOT INTENDED TO ACTUALLY BE CRITICAL OF FFG. We are all well aware that they rush these articles out for our enjoyment, and have even in the past outright been wrong about what they've said in them (i.e. K-wing SLAM bomb), but we all are very appreciative even if there are little bumps along the way. But seeing as finding what is a little off in each article has become a part of our forum's ritual of receiving this preview article manna from heaven, I figured I'd make a thread specifically for this discussion so the others can remain focused on FLIPPING OUT OVER THE STINKIN AWESOME CARDS!!!

So without further ado, lets point out everything that is wrong with the article!

This may not be a mistake, but I'm having a hard time conceptualizing how Boba plus R5-P8 allows you to strip an upgrade while defending. Unless the defender has a major hull breach how are you dealing a face up damage card w/R5-P8?

And as Boba crew indicates it triggers after performing an attack and on a faceup damage card (R5-P8 deals face down), this is almost certainly an error.

Still a good combo, but yea it won't work that way.

Gonk got referred to as a Salvaged Astromech at least once in the article. Hence the pairing with Flight Instructor. Doh!

Haha indeed! And the article also seems to think Gonk is a salvaged astromech, even though it is clear on his card he is crew... xD

I like Gonk way better as a crew. But which is the mistake?! The icon or the pairing with Flight Instructor?

The Gonk also says 'Scum Only' though, which Salvaged Astro cards don't (I don't think) so it MUST be a crew and the article writer just got the pairing wrong.

That's the thing. They aren't rushed out to us. They are written, sent to Lucasfilm, returned to FFG and then fixed or posted. This takes a few weeks. Problem is if a mistake is found it's gotta go back again possibly to Lucasfilm depending on what it affects.

I know from personal experience this used to take about 6 weeks. That was how long it took for my article to go up. And this was well before episode 7 likely increased the amount of approvals on Lucasfilms end. Don't get me wrong I love FFG and Evan who does most of the writing but a bit more time spent proofing these would go a long way.

Ya... The fact that we are seeing these cards for the first time and we are able to catch the errors within minutes is... Interesting.

But there is something kind of endearing about it. I somehow enjoy finding the little inconsistencies that they leave for us to find.

Not necessarily an error, but does Boba strip 2 cards at once sometimes?

If you remove the Outrider title, does it remove the cannon? Or are we following the lead on R2-D6 being discarded by Integrated Astromech, but it wouldn't remove the EPT? (I know you can remove the cannon and be done with it, but I was trying to look for domino effects in the game)

Similarly, if you remove a Proton Torpedo, does it remove both of them despite the ship also having Extra Munitions, or will it be a special case that has to be explained?

Removing Outrider would do nothing other than remove the title. Remove the cannon is much more effective.

After looking at the article again, I think I've figured this one out or they revised the wording to make it more clear.

Suppose Dengar has R5-P8 and Boba Fett, and gets attacked by a fresh Stresshog.

After the attack resolves, he uses R5-P8 and hits, stripping a shield. That leaves the stresshog with two shields remaining. He then resolves Dengar's retaliation attack and scores two hits and a crit. Since you've already taken out one point of shielding, the crit goes through and the Dengar player uses Boba to take out the TLT.

Since the Y-Wing no longer has a turret equipped, the BTL-A4 title is now useless and it can't perform a second attack.

Removing Mist Hunter doesn't remove Tractor Beam just like removing R2-D6 doesn't remove the EPT.

The thing is, Shield Upgrade does work well for Gonk. It's the only upgrade that theoretically lets Trevura get back to the point where he doesn't award MOV.

No Hull would as well. 6 hull 4 shields. You still have 2 hull when he comes back to life in that build, then you could regen all 4 shields and be 6 health and above your half health threshold.

Either are good, just depends how many points you have to spend.
