I started a similar thread a long time ago, but with new expansions out I wanted to see what you all thought. For example, I haven't been fully convinced to buy the Phantom and Ghost expansion. The new turret within that expansion is the only thing that might push me over the edge.
Which ship/ expansion can you do without 2.0
As a primarily Rebels player, I haven't felt any strong need for the Gozanti.
Though I do own one, there's nothing in the M3-A Interceptor blister that I'm interested in that I can't get elsewhere.
I'm excited by both the S&V ships, and to a slightly lesser extent the Ghost. I don't see myself picking up the Inquisitor anytime soon however; mainly because I don't fly Imps very often.
I've not bought any of the huge ship expansions either.
Edited by Dr ZoidbergThe Ghost, for sure. I usually run Imperials, but even when I do run Rebels, I can't convince myself to sink over half my points into a large base ship. The Ghost will probably end up in the collection at some point anyway, but it's not my jam in terms of play style.
I'm not pushed by the Punishing One either. I play Scum occasionally, and think the large base ships actually kind of suit their style, but (unless the inevitable preview has something crazy in there) I just don't find it massively interesting over some other Scum options. Again, however, it'll probably still end up in the collection eventually.

Im divided on the Ghost. I don't think I would ever play it that much, but it seems like the phantom and the crew are no brainers for future Rebel lists. Kanan crew esp. Sabine crew whenever you think about bringing bombs. I will probably just end up playing Rebels even less after the Ghost comes out.
I could probably also do without my E-wing, Hwk and YT-2400. The scyk is fun to play sometimes but not a must have.
Although, I mostly play Empire and occasionally Scum, I am actually quite keen on the VCX-100 (Ghost) myself. I have always had a soft spot for the VT-49 Decimator, and the VCX-100 fills a similar role, but with an open secondary turret slot and a systems upgrade.
Hera Sydulla (40pt) + Accuracy Corrector (3 pt) + Autoblaster Turret (2 pt) + Engine Upgrade (4pt) = 49pt is going to be an (almost) unstoppable force, and something which has me seriously considering turning rebel. Not that it in anyway is OP as it will be very vulnerable to secondary munitions (as the Decimator is also going to be), which is perfect as it opens up the meta even more.
The Ghost is so expensive that it is pretty far back on the "get this" list for me, but i definitly want it because it has interesting mechanics and i like the characters. The rest of wave 8 is going to be in my hands when it launches.
The one ship that I just don't care about is the TIE Advanced. The expansion holds nothing of interest except for Vader, whom I prefer on a Shuttle, and I don't have any desire to get the Raider. In addition to that the ship never appealed to me visualy.

I usually get one of each, with the exception of:
- A-Wing (got Jake in the Rebel Aces pack, don't really feel the need to fly two)
- Corvette (rarely play Rebels, rarely play epic)
- Aggressor (one is kind of pointless, and I don't really feel like playing Brobots)
The ghost for sure I will never buy one I can't stand the crew from the show so have zero incentive to own the ship.
I think this is where my total ignorance of both the show, and the entire EU, is to my odd benefit. The first time I've come across the vast majority of the named pilots in this game, was upon release of the preview of each wave. Not having any particular allegiances or favourites means I don't look at anything but the stats and the ability.
That said, the Ghost still does nothing for me, with the minor exception of the Sabine crew card.

Mostly Imperial stuff, as you can see. My mortal enemy runs almost exclusively Imperials, so I rarely field them myself. I'm not overly bothered about the Ghost, either.

Although I kind of wish I hadn't bought in as much as I had, because I feel like I could be a better player if I wasn't totally dependent on auto thrusters, etc.
The Ghost--While I like the series well enough, I do not like the ship. It is not aesthetically pleasing to me. While the ships and upgrades/crew might be great, the whole package isn't worth my money. This could change.
Punishing One--Ugly and more nonsensical than the offset cockpits of the YT series. Again, I am sure the ship and upgrades will be great. But for me, not worth it.
But then again, I have purchased everything up to this point. I will likely buy these two in the future, or at least put them on my wish list.
Of the ships I own...
E-Wing--Ugly, expensive, never flown it. The Kihraxz is a better, more pleasing design.
Most of the S&V ships. Bought an M3-A and won a StarViper, not really interested in any others. Very very rarely play the faction.
The YT-2400. Ugly ship and I don't like Dash.
I never play Rebels and have no intention of getting a Ghost. Even if I were a Rebel player...that ship looks kinda weak, though I'd probably buy one for the Attack Shuttle, which has awesome pilots at a couple different levels, and is probably a point or two under costed; great value.
As a non-Rebel player, the only card I'll probably ever want access to is ma-aybe a Dorsal Turret (Kavil is intrigued). If that's the case, I'll borrow it from a friend.
Punisher.
Got the Ion Engines another way, and the cluster bombs are coming with the Ghost and Imp Aces.
So I have literally no need for it.
still getting basically everything, although I think the Inq Tie is the least necessary. It opens up subtle new gameplay changes, but at the end of the day it's another imperial ace (Albeit a cheaper one that opens up more build options)
I don't think I'd be buying the misthunter if it wasn't for the 4lom and Zuckuss crews. Those two have some incredible potential and hate green dice as much as I do ![]()
