Alright let's hear them people! I love the Defender and when I figured out Duals were a thing I need to run them! Rexlar and Vessary I ran twice tonight to practice went 1-1 against some Scum;

Rexlar- Ptl, TIE Mk II, HLC, Prockets

Vessary- VI, TIE Mk II, HLC, Prockets

I need ideas people's! Different builds, strategies like flying them, opinions etc. the SC I'm going to is on March 12th and want to see if I can get enough practice to give it a shot! Thanks!

Biophysical is the man when it comes to Defenders and I believe he eventually retired this list:

Rex - Predator, HLC, Hull Upgrade

Vessery - Lone Wolf, HLC, Ion Pulse Missile, Stealth Device

That sounds pretty sweet keep them coming! I beat a a squad consisting of; Talonbane, Two Ion Turret Y wings and a named Z95 and then lost against that list tweaked to make the ions into TLTs and switched the named headhunter to a different one. That second game he shot Vessery with the Kihraxz Range 1, 5 hits and crack shorting my one evade....it sucked haha.

The second game I didn't notice he changed to TLTs, wasn't paying attention when he was changing upgrades, or I definietly would have changed my plans. I was trying to stay range 3 of the ys so the ion turret couldn't reach and Id have HLC but when I realized they were TLTs it was a little late. First game a took out both y wings in the first three rounds of shooting and picked off the last two from there. Once I realized there were TLTs the second time I took out a y wing in one go, but like I said, it was just too late for me to recover.

I think dual Defender is always a bad idea. Maybe 3 Defenders can work.

If you roll defence dices like a god, than you will win. I saw exactly this list in combat with the man, who evaded all attacks. It was ridiculous. Insane.

If i use defender, i roll 5 blanks out of 5 dices. 3d distance and asteroid and all blanks against 1 single hit.

That's usually my luck with Defenders. My green dice always go cold. Bio made 2 Defenders work, but you are very match up dependent (to be fair so are most lists) and that was before TLT madness. I just don't think you can do enough damage quick enough before TLT list start taking you apart.

I cannot wait for Imp Aces. I was thinking about Dual Defenders with a cheap target painter. Something like this:

The Epsilon is the cheap target painter for Vessery and a decent blocker. Vessery fires first and tractor beams and blasts a target. Then Brath smacks them around with the HLC and primaries. Hopefully the target explodes or is heavily damaged. Brath can target paint in a pinch if the FO meets an early end. I know this doesn't help the OP, but I was just brain storming.

I think your list can work, but its really going to be an uphill battle. I see no real way to improve it really.

Regarding the OP's list specifically, I would go with Hull Upgrades over the Proton Rockets. It's always useful to have extra extra hit points, and the lion's share of damage will be done at long range. The 4 dice primary is plenty good, I think.

Yeah prockets we're just there to fill up points. I know dual defenders may not be the best but they just look so majestic on the board!
