Would the Guidance Chips upgrade work on the TIE Bomber, Y-Wing, Z-95, TIE Advanced, etc.?

The ships listed above have a primary weapon value of 2. I am assuming that primary weapon value means the Red number printed on the actual ship card and not the missile, or torpedoe, upgrade card.

I was confused when the preview from Fantasy Flight showed a TIE bomber with the card.

It got me thinking I was reading the card wrong.

Thanks

Yes it would. But with those ships you change one die to a face with a <hit> on it. If the ship has a primary attack of 3 or higher, then you get to change it to a face with a <crit> on it.

So things like B-wings, X-Wings, Tie Defenders, Firesprays or Starvipers get to change the die to a <crit>

And you're right the primary value is what's printed on the ships card.

I think you're reading it right. With a primary attack value of 2, you can only change a die to a hit. If you have an attack value of 3 or higher, that die can be changed to a crit. The ships you listed would only be able to change that die to a hit.

Ok I see it now. The key is the "or" after the hit symbol.

It is useable but ships with a primary weapon value of 3 get a "bigger bang" out of it.

You can read something over and over and still miss a key point of grammar.

Thanks for the clarification.

I thought that may be what was causing the confusion. Glad we could help you sort it out. :)
