Hello,

I am in the process of repainting my Star Wars Armada ships and squadrons and although I have already posted pics of these

on the Community Painting Thread, I thought I may as well offload some more so here are my current repaints.

Although there isn't a lot on here at the moment I will post more as I finish more models, so please don't be put off!

I will also state the paints I used in another post later in case anyone ever wants to try something similar.

Here are my repaints.

Modified CR90 A "Victory's Dawn" . It is the oldest ship in the rebel fleet and has been fitted with compressors to allow it to travel faster

(basically to allow it to keep up with the rest of the fleet).

And my second repaint, Nebulon-B Escort Frigate " Vindication". It was drafted into the Galactic Civil War part way through a refit. The

engineers did their best to get it into service quickly but unfortunately hadn't the time/patience to finish the paint job, hence the green front and white back.

Still under construction... Rebel modified Cr90 with Projection Experts...

I haven't quite decided what is next but I'm thinking maybe a Raider or a VSD. I also have another CR90 to paint.

All Tie squads: Alpha, Beta and Gamma reporting in.

Here are the paints I used...

CR90

Main hull- Mephiston Red,washed with nuln oil then 1st highlight Evil sunz scarlet, 2nd highlight Wild rider red

White sections- just plain acrylic white

Grey sections and base for engine block- I think it was something cheap like Humbrol raf blue

Engines- 2 were done in standard grey, 7 were done in raf blue, 4 were drybrushed very lightly with necron compound

Weathering- I used a weathering pack by Lifecolor but I also used wild rider red with a touch of yellow for rust. I used a wash of bloodletter also

The compressors- I drybrushed these with Leadbelcher before painting on the rust colour and rubbing most of it off. I then washed it with bloodletter.

Neb-B

The base colour for the hull is just grey primer

The green is caliban green, I painted the rear with ulthian grey before washing the model with nuln oil

Washed the front of the neb in agrax earthshade and the rear in the same, then rubbed off the shade on the front, leaving it in the crevices.

Painted the funny things that stick out the front in Stormvermin fur, Vallejo deep sky blue, Evil sunz scarlet, uluthan grey, and rakkarth flesh. shaded all with nuln oil, highlighted up sections.

Highlighted the top with ulthuan grey.

Weathered the front and back with the lifecolor set, used ushabti bone for parts of the end.

The windows are a wash of kantor blue with lahmian medium, then Vallejo deep sky blue for the main lights, then a bit of white to finish it off.

Varnished them in a few coats of Testors dullcote.

This is my third Armada ship repaint - the Raider "Initiator". The pictures aren't as good as I had hoped and I will maybe

take a couple more tomorrow. You can't really make out any of the window work I did on the side.

Anyway, some pics.

I tried to recreate some streaking and blast damage on the main hull.

. I'm going for a VSD next. Already thought of a name, too!

I poured all my energy (blood, sweat, tears etc) into designing and fabricating those parts.

No, I think the side parts were leftover undercarriage from an old aircraft kit that I then modified for the purpose.

The round thing was a piece that I made out of some thin plastic sheets.

You should take a photo of these ships on a black back field, and at a little bit of a distance. I feel your painting would mesh so so so much more at 3 feet.

Up close my ties look like crap, but at range it all blends together nicely.

I think you wouldn't be able to see the Raider itself, let alone any paint blending together at 3 feet!

Don't diss your ties! They're great!

Also changed a few pictures for the raider as they looked pretty poor.

I finished the second of my first two Tie Fighter squadrons today (I'm quite a slow painter-I know).

They are called Alpha and Beta squadron (not very original). I hope to have some more to show soon but I've run out of grey primer .

Got a RandV squadron pack yesterday so I may/may not paint them next. Thanks for looking!

Those lines on the wing were supposed to be kill marks.

Ok. I haven't done much in the way of painting lately but I have a few small updates...

1) Finished Tie Gamma Squad. You may find the funny red mask on Gamma leader but I can assure you that it is intentional - I like to have a way of spotting different Ties on the tabletop.

2) I bought a second Cr90 a few months ago and I decided to have a bash at modifying this one as well - it is yet unnamed but has been fitted with projection experts. I will be repainting it shortly.

3) I have some Itys ready to paint

4) Boba Fett is almost finished - so watch this space!
