Does the Defense Liaison allow you change a token for a Nav/Engineering token or is the exchange of the toke for a command dial?

Defense Liason is:

"Before you reveal a command, you may spend 1 command token to change that command to a Navigate or Repair command."

It would be better written to be:

Before you reveal your Dial , you spend a Token to change that Dial to the Navigate or Repair setting.


So its trading a future Token, for a Dial that says what you want Now .

Thanks for the quiet reply. That's what I thought it was but when I looked at the icons on the card I thought maybe it was changing a token for a token.

Correct. ANY command token can be spent to change your revealed dial to either a Navigate or Repair Command.

I love matching Grand Moff Token with these guys. I get to spend the rest of the game playing only two commands.
