Lieutenants Resting?

By zixition72, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi everyone,

I'm sure this is a pretty easy question but I couldn't find the ruling on it last night during our session so we just decided that they can't. So I have two questions pertaining to this.

Can lieutenants perform a rest action? In our case Baron Zachareth had the weaken condition and the only way to remove it is to rest so I was wondering if they can rest since they have attributes just like heroes do.

Also,

Can you stack conditions? There was an argument made that since there are multiple weaken tokens that you can stack weaken on either monsters or heroes. Is this allowed? Or is it one of each condition per figure?

Any help would be great before we move into act 2!

Thanks! :)

1st question is actually a little tricky. Normally, LTs cannot rest. It has been ruled that some figures (like the reanimate or wolf) even though they normally can only move or attack can perform a special action to clear stun. I do not know if this extends to weaken or to LTs. I will ask FFG and post a response when I get one.

Second part is easy- conditions never stack. That is, you CAN be diseased and poisoned, but you CANNOT be 'double poisoned'.

Thanks for messaging FFG about that first one! Yeah at the time my only option was basically to kill off Zachareth so he'd respawn fully healed. I'll check back once you have an answer!

Perfect, that's what I was hoping was true, otherwise wow having 3+ weakens on anything would effectively kill them outright haha.

Thanks Zaltyre!

Having multiple of any conditions would kill anything outright...

Triple poison? Every turn take 3 damage at the start of your activation? Quadruple stun? You can't take any actions but clearing stuns for the next two rounds?

Fortunately, as Zaltyre said, they don't stack, although you can reinflict them over and over. (immobilize!)

"Little help here", he called to the goblins scampering about "I 've fallen and I can't get up!"

I guess instead of Viktor it should be Kyndrithul, released today in the US! :D

No, a lieutenant (or any monster) cannot rest in order to remove Weakened. Unlike Stunned and Burning, which have an action printed on their card that may be performed when given that card (or a token that represents that card), Weakened does not add an action, it simply allows an already existing action to be a trigger to discarding the condition.
