Escalation squad

By Beard, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I'm trying to figure out a decent squad to fly in an escalation tournament coming up soon. I've never played escalation and I don't know what the meta is for this store, so I'm trying to make a squad that has an answer for everything (as much as possible anyway)

My starting 60pt squad is

Vader 35pts

EU

VI

Title

ATC

Royal Guard Pilot 25pts

AT

VI

The idea is to have a top ps ace (vader) and a backup "ace". AT for protection against possible tlt swarms. After this, I add the following every round.

Royal Guard Pilot 30pts

Title

AT

SD

Predator

The idea here is to have more protection against the dreaded tlts, pilots at low enough ps to block aces, but high enough ps to shoot before my opponents blockers, and predators for extra aggression, specifically against possible swarms. MORE specifically against ywing tlt swarms lol. I have enough fire power to take out swarms and large ships, and enough ships to catch any aces that may escape vader. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Would also like to mention that I tried to find a way to add Wampa, but just couldn't do it without completely changing the squad.

Ok here's an alteration that includes Wampa. Starting 60pt squad will be this.

Vader 35pts

EU

Title

VI

ATC

Wampa 16pts

TC

This leaves me with 9 pts left over. I feel like this is too much? First 30pts addition will be this.

Cpt. Yorr 39pts

EU

AS

Palp

EU + AS = a lambda that turns faster then expected lol. Yorr allows the other pilots to k turn as needed, also protects the aces from stress hogs and the like. (Yes I know, pilot ability and AS clash, each are situational to whoever I'm playing against. I just didn't want to play with the ps2 pilot, for fear of being eaten by Predator ships) Palp will help boost survivability of the other ships as well as their attacks. And if needed, hand out crits to Wampa. After this, all other 30pts additions will be the 30pts Royal Guard Pilots mentioned above. Do either of these squads look like they'll work? (Those 9 floating points in the first round really bug me)
