Welcome to Onderon IC

"Well at least we only have to lock the doors to stop them using whatever is inside."

Tush scans the platform, assessing whether this is a more suitable place to deal with those troopers in black. He knows at some point they need to be subdued but this is a small isolated squad he is a part of. Serious injuries could set back their plans by weeks.

"Let's see what they have parked in there, I'm sure something will present itself as a solution to those things"

Mek-Nik ran a few commands on the system controller in the room. A few seconds later he gave a low whistle and the overhead popped up with security footage from beyond the blast door.

Take control of launch doors: 2eP+2eA+2eD 7 successes, 2 threat

With a thunk, the security locks on the launch doors engaged. "Best I can do, nobody else is opening the doors, but I may have tripped an alarm. Hopefully the comm systems still down."

Tush is still curious what we saw inside the hanger.

"Has anybody seen something like those black-armored bastards before?" Barada asks. "It's only two of them, I'm pretty confident we could take them fast, if we set up right. But there would be noise."

Droo nods, and growls, rolling his Vibroknife in his furry palm. Stealth missions were all well and good, but he always got that itch for a straight up fight. Like sneaking around wasn't telling these Imps clear enough how he felt about the situation. Should never have messed with Kashyyk.

"Arrwaaughh grrrrnn grryaw yrrrrh, drreyeorrrgh wrrrrhh," (paint a storm trooper any colour you like, he'll drop when I cut his legs off) he replied to Barada with a grin.

"Mmmmphrrawar" (I'm game)

As Mek-nik is searching the computer for anything useful he sees that the troopers outside are droids.

Running through incoming invoices, Mek-Nik finds some with a lot of paperwork attached.

"Um, we may have a problem. Those aren't stormtroopers, they are advanced combat droids. Looks like they came with missile launchers & assault cannons, though I can't confirm what they are armed with now."

{flip destiny point}

"Oh, now that's interesting. There's supposed to be a restraining bolt each for them - given the paperwork attached to them, they are a serious bit of kit - I see at least 2 documents flagged classified - though that could be the same document twice. Turning the tables & using their own combat droid against them sounds like my kind of mayhem."

"Droids? Really? I thought the Empire was not interested in employing combat droids after the Clone Wars," Barada muses.

"If we can find the restraining bolts and get them attached without getting blown up by a rocket launcher or perforated by an assault cannon that would be good. It would give us a chance to get some valuable intel for the Alliance. Capturing one or two of those droids sounds like a good way to find weaknesses for future engagements," he continues.

He peers over Mek-Nik's shoulder. "Does it say anything about where those restraining bolts are likely to be kept? I'm guessing they don't just leave them in an open box somewhere."

Tush takes a moment to look over the data Mek-Nik has uncovered "Mek-Nik can you be sure that we will have complete control of those Restraining bolts? Whats the chance someone in a control room somewhere will override our commands? If the risks are too high i'm happy to leave those 2 in their crates, locked up in the hanger. The other 2 are getting restrained, but they may be best locked up in that hanger too. The last thing we need is some know it all imp hitting the override button at the wrong time."

Carefully considering the risks Tush realises its a job for 2 of the team to apply the restraining bolts. But they will need a distraction.

"Someone throw me one of those restrainers, and take one for yourself, we have 2 droids to pacify. Everyone else get ready to fire on them if things go bad."

Speaking into the comm "Droo, you get that? We are going to try restraining them, if things go bad do your best to take them out... and try not to hit me!"

"Anyone see a better way, or any flaws in the plan? if not lets get on with our job"

Trying to remain calm, Tush is a little nervous, he has calmed down since their last confrontation and these things are a headache he certainly didn't expect. But lets make the best of it, they may come in use later on... if they can be controlled.

"Grrrwwwarrwwrrh," (affirmative) growls Droo.

His attention never leaves the troopers. Turning the knife over in his right paw, his thoughts turn to an analysis of any weak points in their armour. It is a disappointing train of thought, and soon he is annoyed to find his other paw has found that hip flask again.

No, not yet, he tells himself.

Barada heads back through the vents, to where he has a clear shot at medium or long range. He sets up with his rifle, in cover, takes aim at one of the droids and waits until he is needed.

Mek-Nic picks up one of the restraining bolts and looks it over. "It looks like it's roughly a stock bolt with a higher output and a larger power cell. It came with the droids so I assume that the Empire thinks that they are going to work. I would like to check on the packaged droids before trying to put one on one trying to kill me."

Standing at the edge of one of the unopened crates he asks, "Any objections?"

"No objections here... just be ready with those restraining bolts."

Kevar shoulders his rifle as he gets ready to react to any sudden movement from the droids. "You're the expert...but I'd be ready to jump out of the way if something goes wrong."

Barada sees the dark troopers turn and head toward the hanger."Security breach computers have been accessed, trooper containers have been opened. Secondary goal realized. Primary Goal received, clear landing bay for the last shipment to arrive. The Imperial Raider,Prototype Phase 4 Tropper must be protected. Moff Corlen will be arriving soon." It turns out this has been a Trap!

Seeing the danger the others are in Barada whispers in his comlink. "It's a trap! They know you are in there and are about to attack. It makes me suspect the bolts were planted. Am ready to cover you."

He keeps the aim of his blaster rifle on one of the troopers, waiting for the action to start.

Tush glances at the droids in creates, checking if they are powering up, then growls "Hide, quick, lets hope these restrainers work"

He then heads to one side of the hanger doors, hopefully finding some cover to duck behind. into the Comlink he says "We need to shut these things down before that ship arrives, if we have control of a droid or 2 when they do arrive then we have a chance to overrun the ship... without them our only choice may be those Rocket Launchers they have in the crates back there."

He then waits patiently with restraining bolt in hand.

Spending Banked Threat; " Command recived, clear the landing bay, of all life and dispose of bodies and or Chasis." say the Droids in the crates as they sit up. Your only escape is going to be into the mountain side.

(Barada, you can crawl through the vents into the Hallway of the tunnel into the mountain side.)

Tush suddenly realise she has a Restraining bolt in hand, he dashes for the not yet full active droids and attempts to apply it, yelling "get that other restrainer on!"

As you apply the Restraining bolt it emits a strange sound, a countdown you realize. You duck down just as the droid self-destructs. When you get up after a few moments, your ears are ringing but you see that you and the rest of your squad are okay. Both droids have been blown up, although parts of one are strewn about on the deck of the landing pad.

(OOC: Take 2 Strain, except Barada,)

"Grrraawwww!" (that was effective!)

Barada hears the explosion from within the shuttle bay. "Bastards," he mutters, realizing that his friends are either in trouble, or possibly dead. He looks at this droid soldier through the scope of the rifle and pulls the trigger. He hits the droid he was aiming for square in the head. The damage looks severe, but Barada has no time to admire his handywork. Before the droids can react he fires another shot, this time at the locking mechanism for the doors, damaging it and preventing the droids from getting inside.

Seeing that he has done all he can from the outside he quickly gets up and into the vent again and starts scurrying out.

OOC: Barada has been aiming for a while, so I assume Aim and True Aim has been activated in previous rounds. He shoots and then takes his maneuver to get into the vents.

Shooting at droid soldier: 3eP+1eA+2eB+2eD 3 successes, 3 advantage, 1 Triumph
p-a.pngp-tr.pngp-s-a.pnga-a.pngb--.pngb-s-a.pngd--.pngd-th.png
So, let's see if that can harm them. With Deadly Accuracy the damage is 14. The three advantages are enough to activate a critical hit. Perhaps the Triumph can allow Barada to hit the controls for the door before he gets up into the ventilation to slow the droids down even more?
Crit on droid soldier: 1d100+10 53
Crit is 53 with one level of Lethal Blows, making it a fearsome wound (increasing difficulty of all presence and will power checks - yay...)

Action:

As the Dark Trooper in the case begins to stir, Mek-Nik activates the restraining bolt after attaching attaching it to the marked area.

apply restraining bolt (Simple): 2eP+2eA 5 successes, 2 advantage

Maneuver:

Grabbing the missile launcher out of the crate and slinging it over his shoulder he looks at the Droid and says:

Bonus Maneuver (2 advantage)

"Oh frack!" as he realizes the droid is going to self destruct & tries to drop to the floor before it does.

You all run into the into the mountain side and all the way down. You see a hybrid Tie/Star Destroyer in front of you. You also see at least 50 Stormtroopers and 300 Imperial workers as well as 16 more droid soldiers. You hear a shuttle land outside, and a voice say " Admiral Corlen we did not expect you here so soon. The Imperial Raider prototype is advancing quite well and will be done within the week. Please come and see the progress we have made. The men here will take the final parts of the project Droid Wampa droids to the construction area and finish them." You see 2 Imperial Officers, one obviously a Moff, walk towards you and you duck to the side. After watching the shuttle for a couple of minuets you see stormtrooper armor plates being unloaded, the parts could easily fit a wampa inside them.

"Dam, this base is huge, and Intel really screwed up on there info! Ok guys anyone got ideas for taking over a base with over 400 occupants, including some crazy droid nightmares and a bunch of Stormies? It seems a waste to blow it all to hell, but i don't like the look of that Ship there. Any research we destroy is research the Imps don't have, it would just be nicer if we got it instead!"

Tush goes quiet for a bit, watching the hive of activity in the hanger, studying that prototype.

"We need to get them to Evacuate... trick them into thinking its not safe to stay here, or make it unsafe... Ideas people"
