Welcome to Onderon IC

By TheCosmicHospitaller, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Here we go:

Takeover at Whisper Base

War rages across the galaxy.

Both the brutal Galactic Empire and the desparate Rebal Alliance reel in the face of terrible losses.

Though REBEL forces manged to destroy the superweapon called the DEATH STAR,

their victory did not come in time to save the world of ALDERAAN.

Fear and uncertainty swell in the galactic community.

Now, one small battle begins on the verdant world of ONDERON.

Deep in the jungle, Rebel intelligence has located a secret listening post built by MOFF DARDONO,

To spy on his rival ADMIRAL CORLEN.

The Rebel Alliance has sent a crack team of infiltrators to take the secret listening post,

and turn it into a forward REBEL command post in the Japrael System.

Now after hours of slogging through the humid jungle with it's pousionus plants, and annoying insects.

Our heroes step into the garage of their destanation,Whisper Base.

Welcome one and all, you've reached Whisper Base and all of you suffer 2 strain other than Kavar, who suffers one, because of your safari through the jungle. And now we're entering your first adventure:

As you step into the garage you see numerous speeder bikes and a couple AT-ST walkers. You know you have three objectives find and cut the main communication wire, make sure the shuttle can't fall into imperial hands, and capture the commander of the base, all while defeating imperials, and without alerting Dardano.

You find the comm wire and cut it and prepare to enter the main base, but then you hear steps on the durasteel floor and hear one of them say bordely " Must be Cannoks chewing on the cables again."

What do you do to prep for their arrival?

Tush hears the approaching footstepsstarts and casually waits for them to arrive. When they enter the room he starts throwing orders around at the new arrivals, they buy none of it! Either they don't understand or they know no Wookiee's should be on base. But thanks to Fenris's help they are in a state of confusion (setback to next check) and this buys Tush enough time to duck behind some nearby cover (2 Advantage).

See above.

Barada's first instinct upon hearing the voices approaching is to run towards the speeders and hide behind the one closest to the Tush bellowing orders. "This is never going to work," he whispers pessimistically to himself as he aims for the entrance where the Imperials are likely to come from. "We might put the whole base on high alert if we start shooting here," he hisses at Tush.

EDIT: Putting the Stealth roll here to keep it all in one place:

Stealth roll: 4eA+1eD 2 successes, 3 advantage

a-a.pnga-s-a.pnga-s-a.pnga-a.pngd-th.png

I'll use a couple of those advantages to give a boost to anyone else hiding, as Barada helps them pick a good spot.

Droo follows close behind Barada to the bikes, blinking away the thick headache from last nights drink. He takes a position to protect both Barada and close enough to Tush to come to the young Wookiees aid should things go sour. Sourer.

After Kavar picks up on the possible approach of Stormtroopers, he clicks his tongue to bring Pypat to his side. The young bird of prey dives down from the rafters she had perched herself on to land on Kavar's shoulder. With a bit of a prideful smile, Kavar gave Pypat a small piece of dried meat. "Keep out of trouble." with another click and shrug of his shoulders, Kavar ordered Pypat back into the jungle so the bird would not get caught in the crossfire.

Now...to finally stalk the White Ones. Kavar's smile grew wider as he tried to find a good point to hide from the oncoming patrol.

Getting Ready to Ambush: 3eA+1eD 1 success, 1 advantage

Droo ducks down sharply, but with a feeling something isn't right.

Mek-Nik rolls under the shuttle and opens the access panel for the main power bus.

5 success to disable the shuttle - 1 advantage to regain strain.

where is the shuttle? You aren't in the shuttle bay, you're in the garage.

Fenris tries to distract the Imperial troops. Yelling "There goes the Cannok!", he kicks over a can of bolts and runs into the garage, away from his companions. Hoping the troopers are fully distracted, he adds "You guys shouldn't leave your doors open. Down at the village, they chew on everything."

It's so good Droo spends a confused moment wondering if there are actually Cannocks running loose round here.

"Mwhuammmmrrr...?" He mumbles.

Mek-Nik slides on his knees to the side of a speederbike (upper left on the map) and hits the seat with a funny twisting strike with the heel of his hand - popping it off before starting to disassemble the bike. By the time the guards cross the threshold, half of the repulsor components are spread out on the floor around him.

5 success to speed disassemble the bike (using the old roll - mental tools - no hand tools needed).

Unfortunately, his hands are full when they do:

As the soldiers come in they are stunned by the speeder parts on the floor and a togruta yelling "There goes the cannok", as well as the sight of a wookie yelling orders at them, that they are just stunned. But four of them recover enough that they are able to get get their blasters though, fumbling in the work, and unleash a salvo of blaster fire. although all of it misses, it makes it harder to fire back.

As the imperials open up Barada sights his first target from his cover behind the speeder bike. The soldiers are so close that using the scope would be distracting, so he sights down his first target the old fashioned way. He is about to pull the trigger when the Imperial soldiers open fire, and Barada quickly glances to see that his squadmates are not hit before squeezing the trigger of his blaster rifle several times. His shots take the soldiers by surprise. Three drop from his first volley, but the fourth turns just as his shot hits, and his armor absorbs the some of the damage from the hit.

OOC: Targeting the group of troopers that have yet to act. Using a maneuver for True Aim (upgrading roll and getting boost for aiming), setback for the imperial action, a second boost for successful stealth.

Shooting at imperials: 1eA+3eP+2eB+2eD+1eS 1 success, 7 advantage

Well huh. That was a bit... odd?
Barada's shot hits for 12 damage. I'll use three advantages for a critical hit, dropping one minion automatically.
Two of the remaining advantages I'll use to give this group a setback on the next shot, 1 to give the next PC to act a boost, and the last of this huuuuge pile of advantages will allow Barada to recover 1 strain.

OOC: you killed three and the fourth has 1 Wound left.

One of the sentries opens fire while in a panic, not a wise idea, firing at everything he can see, including his fellow men. although you can see his panic won't last long...

Fenris yells and ducks for cover. "What are you shooting at?! I was only trying to help! Does your commander want you to shoot the locals?!"

Scathing Tirade: 1eP+3eA+2eD 3 successes, 1 advantage

Tush sprints across the garage to engage the lone soldier that just peppered him with blaster fire, letting out a roar of frustration. But in his eagerness he cant land a solid punch on his foe. He does however notice none of the Troopers have a com-link on them, they are obviously accustomed to not needing to report in straight away. Our little melee here could still go unnoticed.

Kavar lines up his sights on the still well-sized Imperial patrol. This is for what you bastards did to the Golani Highlands...

The hunter can't help but smile as he sees his bullets find their mark, a shot piercing through one of the troopers' visors and no doubt splattering grey matter all over the inside of the helmet.

Stealth Shot!: 2eA+1eP+2eB+2eD 1 success, 4 advantage

Droo surges forward uttering a soft snarl as he rises.

"Grrawroarrh mmrrrahw rorrwagh" (Young uns gonna get hurt punching like a **** Twi-lek)

He sprints to Tushs combat and launches a heavy overhead right, landing squarely on the trooper.

[[/url]: 2eP+2eA+2eD 2 successes, 2 threat, 1 Triumph

p--.pngp-tr.pnga-s.pnga-a.pngd-th-th.pngd-th.png

Can I take the triumph as a Dramatic Knockout?

Then the strain hits Droos lungs, bending double he pants,

"Rrruuwwrrr..." (I'm too old for...)

There is one left. 1 Pc left to go. He does not have a comlink.

Mek-Nic activates the bike next to the one he was disassembling and works to use it's comm system to jam the comm signals in the garage, only to see all but the last sentry go down. With no comm he posed no immediate danger, but Mek-Nic kept the jamming field on in case one of the others had managed to open a comm line before going down.

Jam local comms - contested roll (Computer or Mechanic): 2eA+2eP 3 successes, 3 advantage

Tush takes a moment to catch his breath, then begins carefully checking over the soldiers for any useful information on the base. His efforts are rewarded with a code cylinder to the base, entry has been granted! (Translated) "Someone watch the door, we also better hide these troops somewhere to reduce suspicion, then when we're all done here we have a shuttle to disable" He then helps hide the tied up and unconscious in crates, under tarps or in cupboards.

When everyone one is ready he will be waiting by the door into the base.

Assisting with the packaging of bodies, alive or otherwise.

When the tidying is done Droo draws his Vibroknife and waits patiently by the door for Tush or Fenris to give orders as to where and when we go next.

Barada checks the imperials to see if any of them are still alive. He then helps his squad mates separate the dead from the living and drags corpses into various hiding spots behind vehicles and under tarps.

"Well, that went well. Hopefully we nailed them before they managed to signal for help," Barada says quietly. "Now what?"
