That's not really true. Where do you think Coruscant came from? The prequels are littered with EU references, proving the exact opposite. Lucas loved his fans, even if he didn't entirely understand their enthusiasm. While Lucas did put in cameos, when push came to shove, he used what HE wanted, even if it disregarded any legends fiction. The clone wars as described/implied by Zahn is different from the films/series. For a more recent example from the clone wars, the name of the Sith Homeworld is Morribund, NOT Korriban. The old fiction, in this case the name, was swept aside.

No one is arguing that Lucas changed his plans to be consistent with EU. All I said was that he didn't sweep everything away. He took ideas from the EU, he wrote his own ideas, he did whatever he though helped HIS story... but he had a story. And ultimately the difference was about respect. Think of it this way... there are 32 teams in the NFL. For some reason I cannot comprehend, the Philadelphia Eagles still have fans. Now if I buy the NFL, and before the season even starts I say "The Eagles are no longer considered a league team. We're going to ignore everything they do this season, and act like they never existed in the first place," what do you think those Eagles fans would do? I was really excited to play Star Wars 1313. And Disney killed it. People were enraged when Lucas changed the OT movies... well Disney did a similar thing. But at least with the Special Editions, Lucas created the movies in the first place. Disney just bought it. So the whole "belongs to the fans thing?" Somewhat true for Lucas, more true for Disney. It doesn't belong to the fans, but the owner should be careful how clearly they make that known.

I find it very interesting there is no legends characters in the game yet. Every character is either from the movie or is an original creation for the game. I hope we do eventually legends characters such a dash, kyle, jan, xizor, jerec, the dark troopers and so on.
