Monday Night Gaming - Ep 4

By KrisSherriff, in X-Wing

Hi guys,

We are still having Monday Night Gaming streamed Live from The Sentry Box tonight at 7:30 EST but we are going to have an Imperial Assault Show this week.

We will have more X-Wing coming but we wanted to show off some other games.

Feel free to tune in and abuse us for not running X-Wing

I'll watch some, but you are NOT talking me into playing imperial assault. I still haven't started armada. Not playing it.......except maybe the campaign........think you can do a little how to play section?

Dangit! Well... I guess I can listen. I'm less tempted by Imperial Assault than Armada... cause I have nearly 200 Zombies still to be painted from my wife's Zombicide addiction. Anything that needs paint is not tempting at all... none... nada... zilch... so... you know, don't make it too interesting or anything ya know? Kay, thanks... bye...

Well I won't watch it, I can only support one hobby at a time.

Maybe you should alternate every other week, just like they did on FCB comics before they shut down.

A schedule would have be nice, so I can plan accordingly for watching.

Thanks,

We have plans to have more stuff on the show but X-Wing is going to be the main pull and get the most air time. It will be at least 2-1 X-Wing to something else with the something else rotating.

Thanks for watching though!

Kris

It was interesting, though there was a lot of buffering and mic issues. I'm wondering if you need to put a laptop cooler on that ASUS to help it out a bit sitting on the desk like that. Heat could certainly be a factor in the equation, not just the USB on the Mic.

I did learn some stuff, but mostly I ended up with more questions, which isn't your fault, I just have zero idea on the Imperial Assault game... and as stated previously, until I paint all of my wife's zombies, I am not going to be able to get anything that requires painting. Not to mention, I have a lot of X-Wing to acquire still!

Consider putting the laptop in icewater half an hour before running it. That will certainly cool things down ;)

Well then, I'll have to tune in next time and go full belligerent colonial on you again ;)

Buffering wise we were not dropping packets at our end so it could just be a Twitch issue, I will monitor it next time a do a round of testing.

Mic wise I am 99.99% sure it is the cable as we didn't have problems when I was using my own mic but now that we are using the Stores equipment they were missing the mini usb cable and the work around involves a tiny rigid cable in to a usb extender lead, in to the USB hub then in to the laptop. There are just too many points of contact for that to not be the first thing I look in to.

Hard ware issues aside I think the software was perfect this time, I personally like the cleaner look with less overlay stuff. I am going to try to see if I can do an X-Wing game from that camera angle as it is only slightly off set so may be the perfect middle ground if I can get everything in the shot.

Kris

Ewwww... yeah, that would cause Mic problems! Daaang...

Yes, I agree, the overlay was far superior and the table was more easily viewed, though, I'm not sure of the scale compared to X-Wing, so it might just be that you were able to be closer or zoom in more on the Imperial Assault board. Excellent aspect of the coverage last night!

You mention you might have combinations of games, like 1 IA and 1 XWing. I recommend against that, because then you have to tune it and hope that the first game didn't go long and trying a fit time for viewing.

Please do all of one game on a single night. I would prefer to skip a week, then to have to hope games end on time and then log in to see what was going on.

Just pick a schedule for each game and each week, and stick with it.

Just some recommendations.

That's what I meant by 2-3 nights of X wing and 1 night of other game that alternates. The show will remain dedicated to just one game per episode so that I can get guests and topics sorted out.
