IG-Boba

Thoughts? I really liked this when I played it, both are really unpredictable.

I feel double IGs work better. Boba gets blocked a lot because he moves so late so he loses his action a lot. Sure, he gets the rerolls but I feel that he really needs a gunner to maintain a reliable damage output. In a two-ship list you can´t afford too many dud shooting rounds with either ship. The biggest drawback regarding Boba is the lack of autothrusters and the mere 2 green dice. He really gets killed by TLTs at long range (no rerolls at ranges 2 and 3).

In case you don´t want to play Brobots, I would suggest two Thugs with TLT in place of Boba. Just my humble opinion (I do know that Sable Gryphon was doing some neat things with Boba/IG in the TC aces qualifying).

I fly both of those lists and I do love 'em, I just fancied something different; granted I haven't played IG-Boba competitively I have enjoyed it casually :).

I fly the IG quite defensively and Boba just rushed in and knife fights.

One other thing I would worry about in your list is that you have a Mangler Cannon on IG and Boba without a Gunner. I feel that´s just too little guaranteed damage output. When I have played Brobots I use HLC on at least one to at least have the chance of 4 damage at ranges 2 and 3. Mangler Cannon is so nice when you´ve made it through the shields but you have to get there and with only two ships it can take awhile if you don´t get those nice 4 red dice often enough.

I would suggest giving Glitterstim to Boba, it works really well with his ability to tank when going in the melee: Get a reroll per enemy in range 1 and a focus on each roll you make this round.

As for crew, Tactician synegise well too: Now your opponent don't want to get into range 1 because of the rerolls he's giving you, but he also doesn't want to get into range 2 because you'll stress him.
