So I'm planning on running the Wonder Twins for my store championship but lately I've been wondering if I should cut out half of the wonder for some furry friends. I'm looking for opinions and thoughts people have from plays Wookie Warriors because l have little to no experience from them. Here's the pros and cons I can think off the top of my head.

Leia

Pros

- 3 dice attack with a possibllity of 6 dice using Battlefield Leadership with Luke

- 5 Speed

- Can recycle good command cards(Son of Skywalker)

- Leader keyword just in case Gideon gets killed before you draw inspiring leadership.

- Ranged attack

Cons

- 8 HP vs 22HP

- Cycling command cards trick take longer to set up than some tourney matches last

- Less a figure compared to Wookies

- Battlefield leadership often ends up being overkill on a lot of units

- Her command card is pretty meh.

Anybody have any experience playing with the Wookies? It just seems to me on paper they would work a lot better than Leia but I would love some other players thoughts and experiences.

For reference the list without either Wookies or Leia is below

2 x Rebel Sabs

1 x Luke

1 x Gideon

1 x 3PO

1 x R2

I've been using the following with great success

i tend to send the wookies right into the fight as the distraction, people tend to panic when the see them rushing them and leave the twins alone long enough for them to take out the biggest threat on the opponents list. the rebel sabs sit in the middle ground snagging objectives and shooting when needed/possible. i found that people tend to get more worried by them than other items in the list and will often do silly things to try and kill them.

either way, if the twins get targeted i have two hardcore wookies in amongst their major units cleaving left and right and if they target the wookies then the twins smash a unit a turn with the sabs mopping anything up behind them.

i just wish i could make the wookies faster without using command cards as they aren't reliable.

Wookies are pretty good, but, not as a single unit. And you would need to change out cards in your command deck to not only support Sabs, but Wookies as well.

If you are going to switch Leia out for something, I would recommend Echo Base Troopers instead. Similar to Wookies, plus they get a ranged attack.

But, I would stick with Leia personally.

@Collins Why did you choose the elite Wookies over the regular ones? The only thing they gain is 2 hp each and an extra dmg on a surge for 3 extra points.

the extra health did prove useful in the late game.

is it worth the 3 points? should i have taken another character? looking back at the latest tourney i did suffer from lack of activations but the list didn't lose out too much, won all but one game, won all games previous to that as well.

I am looking to improve it and am thinking about dropping elite wookies to regular and dropping the diplomatic upgrade as it only gave minor bonus overall and subbing in loku.

My brother has had luck with his Wookie-Jedi list:

Diala

Chewbacca

Wookie Warriors

He focuses his command cards on Wookie cards and Jedi cards and cards that enhance movement and recovery.

It's been pretty effective. It's hard to chew through all the Wookie wounds, especially when boosted by Chewie's extra block. Luke lets them hit accurately and get surges, and once the Wookies are gone Diala uses their cards to ignore defense dice.
