Punch Out?

By RogueCommander, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I almost never go without a screen, but am thinking of giving this a try. All offense (except ECMs) and trying to fit as many guns as possible into a fleet.

I could swap ECMs for X17s or Intel Officers, but would worry about survivablity without them.

Either way, a bare bones approach. Also, an effort to burn down swarms a bit faster, because TRCs and CF on 5-7 CR90s is.... Annoying.

My personal opinion (and experience) is that you're going to get torn up without any fighters at all. I'd say throw the Corvette (and Torpedo frigate too because it's not going to get a big boost from Ackbar due to it only have blue dice) and upgrade all the Assaults Frigates to A's (for the extra blue dice) and take gunnery teams so you can fire out the same side to another ship or to squadrons. The assault frigate thing is an opinion but I'd say take out the Corvette for fighters at the very least.

Yeah, that's been my thinking since Wave 2 for sure (that all-ship is dead). Actually, now that I think of it, this may have been a response to the CR90 swarm more than anything else.

I think it's risky to take to tourney, thought I have a feeling I'll see at least 2 swarms.

You can come pretty close to getting away with it if you have speedy ships. I go five ships, 2 MC30s and 3 CR90s with Mon Mothma, and just two YT2400s and one A-wing. My squadrons go in one at a time to tie up bombers if there is no Jumpmaster. If there is a Jumpmaster you can still tie up some stuff with careful placement, because Dengar gives your squadron heavy so if you spread out usually he can't catch all of your squadrons.

True. But that takes me away from Ackbar and trying to squeeze him dry with lots of laser beams that kill much hull.

Never forget those dice rolls. I had a decent squadron showing and went up against a 2 MC30, 2 CR90A, and an AF with Mon Mothma list....my black dice on my Glad, and my bombers came up blank on over half my rolls and I had Vader as a commander...I only took down one MC30 and was SO SO salty...idk why I am saying this, I was just so salty lol
