Scumthing...different?
I ran a similar list with Drea this last weekend and equipped her with the Unhinged Astromech. For 1 point, you treat all 3 speed manoeuvres as green, which meant less stress for her. Combined with Mux and an ion cannon, I managed to take Whisper out of the fight in the first round of combat. It took a couple more rounds to get the kill, but Whisper was all but useless after that.
Edited by MrJI've had a chance to use drea quite a bit too and I find her ability is nice and all, but a generic y-wing with R4 agromech and twin laser turret provides the same damage output with similar action efficiency but without stress (and is slightly cheaper). As long as you have a higher priority threat else where in your list, of course.
I feel moldy crow and engine are essential on Palob. They increase his survivability quite a bit and allow him to use his ability more often.
My suggestion is to drop the IG in favour of Guri (although that's not really 'different' since Guri and Palob are frequent wingmates).
Guri w/ lone wolf, virago, SJ & autos = 39
Palob w/ ion turret, crack shot, moldy & engine = 33
Hired gun w/ twin laser & R4 agro = 28

You could also downgrade the y-wing to thug in order to fit Bossk on Palob, or perhaps an intel agent...
Or if you really want the IG88, maybe go for the Torkil + predator combo:
IG88C w/ predator, advanced sensors & autothrusters = 44
Torkhil w/ ion turret, bossk & engine = 30
Thug w/ twin laser & R4 = 26

You could also go back to Palob and put sensor jammer on IG88 by ditching Bossk...

Well, Mux is a pretty hard counter to Whisper, so that's not a surprise. However, unhinged is indeed great for Drea.

I'm pretty new to the game and It was my first win. The last time my opponent flew Whisper, he wiped the floor with me. So, as you can imagine, I was very happy with my list!
Thank you for the feedback so far. The IG is not a must, but I was looking for something powerful that my opponents have to worry about while still being defensive. I am used to using the 40-point Guri instead (Predator over Lone Wolf), so I do not mind going that route at all.
I was also muddling around the idea of (don't laugh) Expert Handling on Palob for the added mobility and target lock shedding.
Torkil is way better against Whisper matchups, but I think that Palob will be the pilot for me in what I want to accomplish. His ability pairs well with the ICT. If an enemy ace wants to sit nearby and play defensively, Palob can help push that away...if they decide on other actions like TL or Boost/BR, Palob's ICT can push through a little easier.
After taking the suggestions into consideration, this is where I am at now:
Guri (40)
Starviper (30), Predator (3), Virago (1), Sensor Jammer (4), Autothrusters (2)
Palob Godalhi (31)
HWK-290 (20), Ion Cannon Turret (5), Moldy Crow (3), Expert Handling (2), Intelligence agent (1)
71 Points Spent and 29 Points remaining...
Possible options here are to keep it 3 ship and go with something like:
Drea Renthal (28)
Y-Wing (22), Twin Laser Turret (6)
or
Black Sun Enforcer (27)
StarViper (25), Autothrusters (2)
For four ships, a few Pirates with feedback array are possible... I guess I just need to test it out a few times by myself and see what the list needs.
I really like the idea of the StarViper or Drea as a 3rd ship. The StarViper combined with Palob's Intel Agent could make it a potent blocker by using boost or barrel roll. It also provides a hard defensive target to shove at my opponent while my other two ships take advantage. However, I like the consistent damage a TLT Y-Wing brings to the table. I am probably trying to do too much, but having that consistent turreted damage might be key to finishing off some targets that Guri and Palob have softened. I could also go the Ion Bomb route with a generic for the added control factor. IA on Palob helps with that aspect as well.
With just Palob and Guri, what is this list lacking? I'm suffering from builder's block right now.
Edited by Deepspace5Expert handling is a great idea on Palob. If you take it though, you might want to consider a K4 droid instead of the intel agent.
I really like the idea of a Blacksun Enforcer (with or without the intel agent). I've been using a pair of them lately and really like what they can do. I thought PS 1 would be a bad idea vs PS 2, but between autothrusters and their 3 greens, they can survive decently (if you're careful with them) and their blocking potential is excellent.
Having said that, the y-wing with twin laser offers consistent damage turn after turn, and it may force your opponent to deal with it rather than going after one of your other ships (which is ideal for you).
Either way, you've got the makings of a solid list...
Just picked up a hwk so I'm interested in this concept too. After a few test runs today I'm questioning if EH is trying to do too much on a hwk (my first attempt, follwed by boost followed by nothing).
I don't think you really *need* repositioning on a ps5 anyway. Probably better to just focus and play carnor jax with that ICT + tactician, throw on predator. He'll be a mean little no fly zone that also steals tokens if you don't want to go with the TLT although thats probably the stronger option. Stealth device isn't looking too shabby here either actually.

Edited by Carnor RexLots of things to consider. This whole three ship list thing is new territory so it is fun to explore new ideas. I was even going to try Kavil + Autoblaster + Unhinged + Ion Bombs...but it seems so limited on range the damage is inconsistent. I think the third ship needs to be either 3 primary attack (like the two starviper list) or a TLT.
