Dash Rendar build

By dchristman98, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I wanted to try to get some players takes on the weakness of my list besides the obvious get within range 1 of Dash my list is

Dash Rendar

-Lone Wolf

-HLC

-Outrider Title

-Experimental Interface

-Lando

2 Blue Squadron Pilots

I've played this list vs different stuff and usually come out on top, but I usually get good rolls with Lando at critical times and I roll pretty well when attacking with the HLC, thanks for any advice, thinking about taking this build to a tournament to test it out more

I'll take any advice at all and consider it completely and play test it, I've also thought of running the same Dash with Poe or Corran, but I mainly posted this to get some advice of any kind, since I'm a fairly new player I've probably played 20 games total and no tournaments

EI + Lando is nearly on par with Push The Limit, but you are using two slots instead of 1 and spending twice as much for it.

If you go with PTL you get the versatility of using any action without the gambler aspect. It does add the stress so you would want to find a way to mitigate that, which is where the standard 58 point special comes into play.

PtL

HLC

Kyle Katarn

Engine Upgrade

Outrider

Here is a similar list I was looking at.

BB Dash (99)
Dash Rendar — YT-2400 36 Push the Limit 3 "Mangler" Cannon 4 Kyle Katarn 3 Engine Upgrade 4 Outrider 5 Ship Total: 55 Blue Squadron Pilot — B-Wing 22 Ship Total: 22 Blue Squadron Pilot — B-Wing 22 Ship Total: 22

The main reason I have Lando in my build is to hopefully help with evading, and getting evade tokens, it's not so much for the fire power, because with 2 evade dice Dash isn't living long if someone like Han get within range 1 and I can maneuver and barrel roll to try to get out of range 1 and then hopefully get at least 1 evade token from Lando to help Dash survive, he's basically there to make Dash hopefully more durable since Dash can't take an evade action and even with PtL I feel Dash is still very vulnerable with his low pilot skill

Maybe consider running Dash with Recon Spec, then use a Jan (crew) on a nearby ship to convert that second Focus token to an Evade?

For example:

Dash Rendar (36)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Recon Specialist (3)
Outrider (5)
Chewbacca (42)
C-3PO (3)
Jan Ors (2)
Millennium Falcon (1)
Total: 99

I like that idea too as something to try, but right now I don't have a millennium falcon, but I plan on getting one, but I was also wanting to see if anyone sees my 2 B-wings as useless or could be replaced with something better, I have the B-wings because they have solid fire power and staying power, and you can't afford to leave them alone because they will slowly do constant damage, but I definitely like the falcon idea and I've thought of running Dash with Poe too

YT-2400: · Dash Rendar (36)

Push The Limit (3)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

Engine Upgrade (4)

· Kyle Katarn (3)

· Outrider (5)

B-Wing: · Nera Dantels (26)

Deadeye (1)

Proton Torpedoes (4)

Extra Munitions (2)

Fire Control System (2)

B-Wing/E2 (1)

Gunner (5)

This is what I may run at my store champs this weekend. The plan is to keep Nera near by to plug the rang 1 hole with her 360 degree torpedoes. Hope to see it do ok.

I like my 2400 without stress and with the action independent chewbacca crew. I usually dont run the title either though. Lando crew is fun but what do you think of something like...

YT-2400: · Dash Rendar (36)

· Lone Wolf (2)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

· Chewbacca (4)

· Outrider (5)

B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

Fire Control System (2)

X-Wing: Rookie Pilot (21)

R2 Astromech (1)

Integrated Astromech (0)

Chewbacca is a nice 2 shields and deadly crit protection... Just realized you said you didnt have a falcon. Replace chewbac with r2d2 crew.

Thanks a lot everyone I'm definitely going to test out some of these ideas for sure, but I definitely like to be unique at the same time, but these are some definite good ideas for me to try

I have actually ran this exact build as my first 100 pt list and so far I'm 5-2 with it. I'm gonna try out VI soon for PS 9 Dash and the list is then only 99 pts so possible initiative bid. Hope you have good luck with yours.

I'm sitting at 6-1 with my Dash and 2 B-wings list, and I've faced Fat Han, Corran Horn, another Dash and Fat Han, and some other things but I'm trying to find an overall weakness to my squad, and some new things to try

If an offensive smart player gets within R1 of Dash with HLC just watch him slowly die. Mangler cannon is the way to go to go if you want to zip through the field. Having a focus after every PTL with a barrel roll and boost is nice. Plus Kyle works great against a stress giving army Lando will just sit there and won' do anything,
