Imperial Veterans. Again.

Lots of pertinent things

Somewhere in a perfect world you and I are playing Team Epic together.

I am tempted to dust off Marksmanship for Maarek. Pair it with a Tractor beam. That way you have modifications for both attacks. However, you will be praying to the green dice God for defense.

The Glaive has got to be 34 points. If they were 33, that would be the craziest 1 point you can spend in X-wing. For 1 point you get 3 more PS and likely an EPT (they have got to have an EPT) over the Oynx squadron.

Reasons I see them making it 33 points: they've basically admitted that the thing is overcosted, and that the white k was not game breaking like they thought it would be.

Reasons I see them making it 34 points: having admitted it's overcosted, they created two amazing titles and that's all the fix it could need.

This could be a very fun list:

Rexler Brath + TIE/ x7 + Predator (38)

Maarek Stele + TIE/ x7 + Calculation (36?)

Gamma Squadron Veteran + TIE Shuttle + Mara Jade + Determination (23)

97 points (enough to put TIE Mk. II's on whoever you want, for your preferred initiative bid, or another crew in the shuttle)

I hope it is 33

Look at the TIE Interceptor. The royal guard pilot gets an ept and 3 pilot skill for just 2 points when you compare it to avenger sq. Granted that makes a case for 34 points but defender is in more dire situation than the interceptor so there is a chance it will be 33.

Man, I sure do wish they'd release some more info. I'm dyin' over here. What does Ryad do?

Man, I sure do wish they'd release some more info. I'm dyin' over here. What does Ryad do?

Has Ryad not been spoiled yet? I thought I saw a shot of the card saying she could be equipped with up to 3 modifications (like a souped up version of the Royal Guard title). Or was that just a fan-made version?

She has not been spoiled yet. There's been no information beyond the initial article. Which is why I'm **** near going out of my mind.

And of course the only way I can slake my thirst is to keep talking in threads like this one...

The card you are referring to is a fan-made one.

Wookieepedia states that the Countess' Defender had modified shields. Given that we know she is slotted to be a PS 5, how does this pilot ability sound?

"At the end of the combat phase, you may spend an evade token to recover one shield, up to your total shield value"

Sort of like R5-P9, but with with an evade token (taken from the X7 title).

Perhaps at the cost of not having an EPT slot? Similar to how Emon Azzameen as PS 6 has no EPT slot, but a Mandalorian Mercenary at PS 5 does?

Sounds reasonable, but I'd be disappointed not to have another pilot with some real TIE/D synergy. I'm also not wild about the idea of a pilot who relies on something not actually built into her ship in order to function - potentially mega-vulnerable to being Fetted...

Same here. I don't think they've ever made a pilot who required another card to work. Heavily benefited from, maybe, but not required.

ask T-70 about the best 3 points ever spent

or compare Scyk and A-wing >_> 1 point difference

Why wouldn't you just spend that evade to stop that shield from being stripped?

I hope we don't have to wait months for a full Imp Vets preview.

We will. With only 3 cards left to spoil they will only post one more article about it at most, so that won't be until a week or two before it comes out at best, so maybe June...

Why wouldn't you just spend that evade to stop that shield from being stripped?

Because you didn't have to spend it to actually evade.

"Ryad had the ship modified at a cost of 62,500 credits, fitting it with an enhanced shield generator, an improved ion drive for greater maneuverability and advanced fire control systems."

So, it'll come with a Shield Upgrade, TIE Mk II and Advanced Targeting Computer, then. Going to be interesting.

I'm going to run Brath with D/Tractor. Two PS 4 Tie FO's. Lowest PS bomber with extra munitions and prox mines. Bombers drop mines, FO's do what they do, and Brath uses the D to throw folks into the mines/into FO's arc.

Yeah, running mine-layers with tractor-toters is gonna be very enjoyable indeed.

Look, we all know the real thing this set is missing.

Except ATC is TIE Advanced only. Although I suppose her ability could be worded so that she could use it.

But I'm not sure why you think it'd be ATC, when we actually have a Fire Control System.

Which, of course, would be inside combined with TIE/D. Attack with secondary weapon, get a free target lock, spend target lock on your free primary weapon attack?

I like the picture you used for Emperor's Reach. I was going to make Secret Order and Rogue Squadron cards to use in an extended Civil War league. Not totally sure what I want the abilities to be though...

The information we have from the card fan has Ryad's first line of text starting with "When" and the second line if text starting with "man". That leaves a lot open, but the most common format we've seen is "when you reveal a (speed, direction, or color) maneuver, you get to do something.

"When you reveal a green maneuver, you win the game."

Too powerful?

I actually hope it's red maneuver. A little kicker on that 1-turn would be sweet.

Yeah, maybe it will be like a bitty baby Fel. Reveal red maneuver, assign focus token. It'd go nicely with Wired.
