Well using the vents would probably work, just an easy athletics/mechanics check, with a boost die because of their loose condition.
Edited by SHADOWGUARD CHAMPIONWelcome to Onderon OOC thread.
Could there be a knowledge(warfare) roll to see if we can divine the dark trooper's capabilities should it come to blows?
It would be good to know what those things are, I have a 2 in Int and 1Rank of Warfare, if that helps for a combined check then let's do it, otherwise I'll assist to throw a boost into the dice pool.
It would probably be easier to draw them into the hanger and deal with them there rather than in a hallway.
Can I identify a conduit or panel locally that the wired comms from the hangar would have to route through to get an alarm out to the base?

You cut that wire!

Sure, It's a hard difficulty check though because they are so rare.

OK, so the main comm line was all the communications in/out and internal. I thought it was the comm line out of the base to the comm station.

I have an Int 4 & warfare of 0 so we could do a 1eP+3eA+3eD roll unless someone has a better idea.

I'm happy with that, go for it.
Meh:
What are dark troopers (1P from Tush): 1eP+3eA+3eD 1 success

At least I didn't fall into the hallway or anything else stupid. What do we know beyond big & dark?

It doesn't work like that. You both have to have at least one skill rank to try "skilled assistance" (EotE p25). If you're not both skilled, it's just a boost die added to the one with the skill rank(s).
AoR p 33:
Assistance works best when the assisting party brings additional insight or expertise to the task. When a character with a higher characteristic or skill rating provides assistance to another character, the dice pool may use one character's characteristic and the other character's skill rating.
Example: Skilled assistance
Tendaar the engineer is assisting Zal the ace with an Astrogation check to set hyperdrive coordinates. Zal has Intellect 2 and Astrogation 3, and Tendaar has Intellect 4 and Astrogation 0. Zal's player chooses to use Tendaar's Intellect 4 and Zal's Astrogation 3 when making the skill check, resulting in the following dice pool: GYYY
If EotE says something different we'll have to have Shadowguard make a ruling.
edit: fixed the page number
Edited by tinkerghostAoR CRB p33 allows for one person to give their rank in skill to someone who has none. The example even shows a person with 2 ranks in astrogation giving skilled assistance to someone with only 4 Intellect.
EDIT: The EotE CRB doesn't expressly bar this kind of skilled assistance, at least as far as I can tell. The examples it provides are just different in that they don't show someone gaining a skilled assist without having ranks in the same skill.

The EotE unskilled example shows one has skills and one doesn't, which, for EotE, pretty much rules out an unskilled person giving "skilled assistance". But if the AoR example is different, so be it. Doesn't make sense to me, but...

In the EotE example, the primary character has both better Ability and Skill (Int 3/Med 3). The "assistant" has no ability or skill higher than the primary (Int 2/Med 0). Giving him the medical ranks from the medic would be worse than just the medic rolling. Only really useful if the Medic was the one being treated since he would suffer an increase in difficulty for treating himself.
Skilled assistance takes the best skill rank & best ability score from the 2 characters. If they come from the same character, you add a boost die. If they come from different characters, they get handled normally.
That's the way I read it, but my opposed roll earlier shows I'm not always right.
Hmm, interesting point. Waiting on the GM... ![]()
About the map: did we make it all the way through to the shuttle pad without running into anyone? Or am I confused as to where we are?

You are near the hallway. You remember that the Empire had a project or something that was trying to make super soldiers... but was stopped by the rebellion. You know that they have rocket launchers and some kind of gun.

So beyond what we can visually see, possibly "super soldiers". This is not comforting. We can probably rule out the rocket launchers inside the complex, but if they use that kind of firepower, the gun is probably huge too.
So Barada is into the hanger, and the rest of us are hanging around checking out the local super soldiers... Anyone got a brilliant plan, other than flank them and start shooting?
We don't yet know what Barada can see or do from there, perhaps the entire group could get past the troopers through the vents...

Sure, and you don't have to make a check.
Edited by SHADOWGUARD CHAMPIONHow far are the super troopers from the gang? Medium?
We could coordinate an initial sniping from the vents from Barada and Kavar, coupled with a rush from the rest of us while they are distracted? We (snipers) should get a full aim in.
I'm fine with all of us sneaking through the vents, just be prepared for a very anxious Wookiee!
As a note, I don't think I have a weapon that can actually hurt them. My blade breaker has a base of 3 & the pistol is a base of 5. - With no combat skills, I'm not likely to do more than 6 with the pistol - figure a 4 soak so 2 pts on a good day.
I'm good with the vents, I just hope there's no climbing involved...
Im happy to all head through the vents to the shuttle... It's got a turret I think!
