I've had some ideas for new heroes for the game; do people think these are balanced and interesting? Any other feedback?
High elf Swordmaster:
Attack:
Basic:
· You may engage one enemy
· Attack 2: during this attack, if you defeat at least one enemy, you may claim 1 success token.
Advanced:
· You may engage one enemy
· Attack 3: during this attack, you may target 1 additional enemy and, if you defeat at least 1 enemy, you may claim 2 success tokens.
Reasoning: This is based on the idea that they get a surge of adrenaline and pride after defeating any enemy.
Explore:
Basic:
· Explore 2
· Draw and resolve 1 dungeon card
· You may exhaust 1 action to draw and resolve 1 dungeon card.
Advanced:
· Explore 3
· Draw and resolve 1 dungeon card
· You may draw and resolve 1 dungeon card.
Reasoning: This is probably OP, the idea is recklessness and speed.
Aid:
Basic:
· Aid 1
· The target hero may ready 1 action and may discard 1 success token for you to claim 1 success token.
· Ready all of your actions.
Advanced:
· Aid 2
· The target hero may ready 1 action and may discard up to 2 success tokens for you to claim 1 success token for each they discarded.
· Ready all of your actions.
Reasoning: More adrenaline and pride stuff.
Rest:
Basic:
· You may exhaust 1 non nemesis enemy engaged with you; that enemy suffers 1 damage
· Rest 2.
Advanced:
· You may exhaust 1 non nemesis enemy engaged with you; that enemy suffers 1 damage
· Choose 1 ready enemy engaged with you, that enemy suffers 1 damage.
· Rest 3.
Reasoning: He’s a swordmaster, he needs more than 1 ability that does damage. The ready clause on the advanced version is to stop him from being able to do cause 2 damage on a single enemy without an attack.
Dwarf Thunderer:
Attack:
Basic:
· You may engage 1 enemy
· Ranged Attack 2, during this attack, if all targeted enemies are engaged with you, add 1 success to the results.
Advanced:
· You may engage 1 enemy
· Ranged Attack 3, during this attack you may target 1 additional enemy and, if all targeted enemies are engaged with you, add 1 success to the results.
Reasoning: This is meant to be like a blunderbuss or something.
Explore:
Basic:
· Explore 2
· Draw and resolve 1 dungeon card
· You may exhaust 1 action and discard a success token to claim a gear card
Advanced:
· Explore 3
· Draw and resolve 1 dungeon card
· You may exhaust 1 action and discard a success token to either claim a gear card from the discard pile or draw 2 gear cards, claim 1 of them, and discard the other.
Reasoning: “Dwarfs are like magpies, we’re drawn to shiny objects.” – Varric Tethras
Aid:
Basic:
· The target hero may engage 1 enemy engaged with you.
· Aid 2
· The target hero may ready 1 action.
Advanced:
· The target hero may engage 1 enemy engage with you, that enemy and one other enemy engaged with them suffer 1 damage.
· Aid 3
· The target hero may ready 1 action.
Reasoning: Giving the thunderer a knockback mechanic (kind of a trope for ranged classes).
Rest:
Basic:
· You may exhaust 1 non-nemesis enemy engaged with you
· Rest 1
· Claim 1 success token and become empowered
· Ready all of your actions
Advanced:
· You may exhaust 1 non-nemesis enemy engaged with you
· Rest 2
· Claim 2 success tokens and become empowered
· Ready all of your actions
Reasoning: This is when he reloads, a lot of overlap with the warrior priest unfortunately but this is what makes sense.
