In a league last summer my opponent decided to have fun and fly 4x Sigma Squadron PS3 Phantoms. I made some mistakes with my Y-Wings and he got a couple excellent shots, as well as a gaggle of regular shots. He rolled no hits the entire game and I took down his entire list without losing a ship. He did the math after and be rolled about one in a million game to get that many blanks. He took a3 month break from X-Wing after that
Moments you felt the most sorry for the opponent?
Yesterday at a store Championship. I have a TIE Fighter with no tokens. A-Wing at Range one throws 1 Hit 2 Crit naturally. I throw 3 natural evades. His second A-Wing attacks, Range 3. He rolls 1 Hit 1 Crit naturally. I roll 4 evades. Next round, Keyan attacks, same TIE Fighter. Range 1 through a rock. He rolls 2 Hits 2 Crits naturally. I roll 3 Evades and an Eye, which I spent for no damage. I had Regionals Dice and I could tell he was about to call me for cheating. I asked if I could use his dice. He agreed. I asked him if I should reroll that last defense and he accepted. I rolled 3 Evades and a Blank naturally. The crit was Stunned Pilot. I used his dice the rest of the game. I didn't lose a TIE fighter.
My list:
Omega Leader
Comms
Juke
Vader
Crackshot
Prockets
title ATC
EU
35 point (standard) Soontir Fel
i played against the same opponent 3 times in a row, each time i threw the prockets it resulted in 3 crits and either 2 focus (which got turned to hits) or 2 hits Naturally... and every time he rolled green dice against them it was natural blanks... last game i used his dice, and he used mine... turns out IG's arent that scary when all the damage that gets through is crits.

That, dear sir, is what men call "style"...! ![]()
After a cautious first few turns of movment, my opponents HLC Rex was just out or range of a joust with Poe and Ello on the left of the board. On the right, a Howlie Miniswarm, and coming up the middle, dancing through the tight asteroids, was Gemmer. Next turn, the miniswarm hard turned in toward Rex, Gemmer continues her graceful dance through the field, and PTLs to boost into target lock range of Rex. Howlrunner follows the swarm, while Rex hard turns toward the swarm. Either Rex was bait, or just didn't like the joust. Either way, VI Poe and VI Ello took the opportunity to 3-bank toward him, and boost to range 2.
Three of the TIE Fighters had a shot on Gemmer - at range 3 - while all three of mine had shots on Rex. Poe and Ello, between them, stripped three shields and a hull from Rex in the first volley. Rexy wasn't looking super healthy, but his last maneuver put a rock between him and Gemmer, so it'd be 2 dice vs 4. Our hero in the A-wing rolls two hits after a reroll from the target lock. Rex rolls blanks.
I think I spent the next 20 minutes apologising...
The time I overindulged in Chipotle the day before...
I was playing in a tournament. I was flying Lando and Corran against Kath with 2 scum Ys. One Y was down, 1 was full Health and Kath had lost one shield but was on the run and in a bad spot. Kath's only hope was a tight turn in the corner or next turn she was off the board, if the turn didn't take her off. It was close and we were both anxious for the move but he made it! With millimeters to spare! I congratulated him.
Next turn he does a straight. During the excitement of not flying off the board last turn he didn't notice Kath was at a slight angle. After he completed his maneuver, Kath was off the board by roughly the same amount she had been safe previously. I seriously debated, Fly Casual you know, but this was a tournament and time was ticking...so I didn't offer and to his credit he laughed and said "That'll teach me," and played on.
During the So Cal Invitational qualifier. My opponent was running Jake, Poe & and another ship (I don't remember what) against my 3 trandoshan slavers with feedback array and anti pursuit lasers.
I was able to predict reliably where he was going to be so he almost always bumped, which when I rolled would get a hit every time it occurred. when his ships shot at the ones that didn't bump he would roll either blanks or a single eyeball, and on the 2 times that he rolled a single hit, I rolled an evade with my single green dice. and where I would shoot, I'd get a hit and 2 crits or 3 hits.
the first time we started combat, I shot at poe, and took him off the board that first round of shooting, and proceeded to bump shoot shoot feedback the rest. finished the game with shields left on all the slavers and a full table of his ships.

You're doing God's work, son.
