On a Juke or VI Inquisitor, Proton Rockets are a tad antisynergistic, and you're better off skipping missiles. With Push the Limit, though, you can have a Target Lock, Focus, and Evade, giving you an awesome R1 attack, which is where the Inquisitor is otherwise lackluster.
So Advanced...
Why anti-synergetic?
PTL-less Imp Ace is borderline nonsense, and Prockets are too good to just skip, being one of the greatest assets against rebel regeres like Poe or kHorne

Marksmanship is generally considered bad because you're paying 3 points and filling your elite slot to only be able to sometimes convert a hit into a crit (compared to spending your action to focus). In addition, you use the option to spend the focus token defensively. You gain:
- The extra crit, if you rolled an eye on the attack
- The ability to use it for multiple attacks (this is where it can start to shine)
- The ability to use it even if Jax is nearby
Outside of those situations, predator+focus is very nearly strictly better, since you end up being able to reroll blanks, and then convert the eyes anyway. Fewer crits, but way more hits.

Normally you'd be right. But Vader can do both. He alone above all other pilots puts Marksmanship to better use, because he can take an offensive action and a defensive one in the same turn.

Bu-ut if you Marksmanship and Evade (offensive action and defensive action) you can modify eyeballs when attacking and then have an evade token. If you have Predator, you can reroll blanks, modify eyeballs when attacking, IF NECESSARY, have an evade token, then possibly still have a focus token for the defense. It's just more. You get more dice modifications offensively and defensively, the only thing you lose out on is the extra crit symbol.
If you like Marksmanship, then may the force be with you. I do not think it's effective on Vader.
Edited by CBMarkhamYou want to know how I know you're bad at the game? You're trying to force Marksmanship on Vader. And not even with Cluster Missiles to at least get some use out of it.
If you're not running VI on Vader, go Daredevil. Hell, even expose would be a better use of points. Or push the limit for 3 actions, why not.
Literally anything but Marksmanship.

Hahahaha ok.

"Because you are holding each other ever so gently."
Heh, yeah that gag was funny.
Why are people suggesting Prockets on the inquisitor? You are paying for the title and the title is for TL and Evade not focus. You're spending points working against yourself. I'd say Juke or VI are better inquisitor options and no one is putting MKII on them either since it's the same a lot as autothrusters.
All that being said, I'm all for Bucking the meta builds but doing it just to be that guy who is doing it inspire of your own list is a bit silly.
The OP had Concussion Missiles on The Inquisitor which work best at the range that The Inquisitor is aleady strong. Proton Rockets, on the other hand, give The Inquisitor serious punch when he finds himself with a range one shot.
VI and Juke are both strong options and end up coming in a little bit cheaper. PTL has the Advantage of letting The Inquisitor get all three tokens in a round or allowing him to measure fot target lock and then boost or barrel roll into a more advantageous range band.
He's already in optimal range; he is always at range 1 when attacking. You may BR back to go from 1 to 2 or 2 to three but a TL and an evade token are going to serve you better than an extra defensive dice, especially if you're packing Juke. Adding Protons also pushes him to 34, 35 if you're PTL; one of the inquisitors best assets is 30-31pt builds that are already good, those extra 3-4pts is a big deal for your third or fourth ship.
Not saying it can't or does't work but it still feels like you're trying to make him an interceptor.
