Adventure Concept

By WeaponsFree, in Game Masters

So after finishing my first session running EotE last night, I started thinking of fun adventures for my PC's outside of the main arc of the campaign. I was looking at my shelf of DVDs and thought about using some of the films I have as the basis of the adventures. So I locked onto 3 movies stacked on top of each other, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Hangover and Dusk Till Dawn and this is what I came up with.

GONE IN 60 SECONDS: The PC's find themselves either ruining a deal between a Swoop Gang and a Hutt. In order to appease the Hutt they must steal 20 or so speeders/swoop bikes/vehicles in a short period of time.

THE HANGOVER: The PC's wake up with zero memory of what happened the night before and must find out what happened the night before, why they kidnapped a member of the Black Sun? and where the Rancor in the cargo hold came from?

DUSK TILL DAWN: The PC's are sent on a mission to recover a relic from an old ship from the Clone Wars that crash landed on a far off planet. While inside they find that the ship is filled with zombie-like droids and clone troopers. Along the way they find out what happened and hopefully recover the artifact and find a way off the ship.

Just wanted to see what other GM's think of this concept? Has anyone tried something like this? Did it work?

How about merging all three?

Your players wake up with no memory of the previous evening, they learn from their benefactor who let them stay in their property that they agreed to recover a shipment of speeder bikes aboard a freighter that crashed somewhere near the mountainside that lie close to the city where they're currently recovering from their partying.

If asked for details they've been offered 50,000 each if they deliver the lost shipment to the coastal spaceport their ship is apparently having repairs done to its hyperdrive along with an upgrade they agreed to as part of the deal.

They're provided with a modified jawa hauler to retrieve the shipment and return to the port.

However if they double check with their ship's records at the port they learn they've been here for almost a fortnight.

What they don't know is that every time they retrieved part of the shipment their memories are lost so they wake up the next day to be told of the deal they made and this has been repeated every day for those 2 weeks...

This time they find the crashed freighter almost completely empty of its cargo if they explore they find evidence of someone else retrieving the cargo but no idea what's going on.

If they bother to check the surrounding area they meet a old man taking care of an ancient shrine who recognises them if they bother to ask he points out they've been stripping the freighter of its cargo for the last 2 weeks.

If they return with the last of the cargo they're shown to their rooms after a pleasant meal and whilst asleep lose their memories again if they seek help or have someone skilled in medicine (2 setback dice and 4 difficulty) learn they've been treated with an anti-radiation drug that has the side effect of wiping their memories over the last 24 or so hours.

The freighter had faulty shielding which is why it crashed the crew the PCs are being used to recover the shipment to keep things quiet as to what happened the fact their benefactor doesn't intend to pay them and is hiding the fact the crashed ship replaced their original vessel as part of the deal and should they try to board their own ship they will learn they sold it to their benefactor as part of a deal for their ship which was reported as lost en route to delivering the cargo to their Hutt employer who isn't aware he's been conned but when he does its the PCs he'll be coming after...

No too convoluted what do you think?

That hangover idea is brilliant, I might use that in a side mission involving an addict NPC who convinces the whole party spice isn't all that bad.

But merging could work, it just depends on how long you want the session to last, all three could take longer but who knows.

My vote goes to crazy night on Nar Shadda

That is pretty brilliant. Though they dont have a ship yet. But that can be easily remedied.

Yeah, I thought it would be a fun escapade for them to deal with. I just like the idea of one of them waking up and finding their way to the Cargo Hold and there is a young Rancor crammed in there, and he isnt quite happy about it.
