Double mc80 and Hyperspace Assult

So I'm playing around with a double mc80 built with a handful of squadrons. Assuming I'm second player, would I be able to play Hyperspace Assult, as the setup revolves around meduim-small ships of which this build has none?

I'm thinking its a wasted objective. You can't really hold the large ship for later so nothing will happen.

I'd think fire lanes or contested outpost would be the way to go with those two ships.

Speculatively, you may be able to set aside, and then later deploy up to 3 squadrons, and no ships - but that is definitely not an optimal use of that objective, and a TO may well rule against it.

It's more of a technical questions regarding the setup rules. Because the list has only large ships, would I be able to use an mc80 instead of an absent medium-small ship.

No.

Small or medium AND up to 3 squads.

You get zip!

No, you can't deploy a large ship with the special rules. Like I said, you might be able to get the squadrons to deploy that way, but it certainly isn't worth counting on. Something like Contested Outpost sounds more up your alley. Two decently heavy hitting ships with broad arcs, that are good at moving slow, and can tank pretty well? Seems like a good setup.

- I personally submitted this as a Rules Question/Clarification back at the end of December

Re: Wether you could deploy 3 Fighters on their own in Hyperspace assault if you have -nothing- but Large Ships...

I am yet to receive a response.
