Tuketu and sharing focus

By Full Metal Wingman, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If Tuketu has 2 focus on him, and my A-wing wants to fire his Proton Rockets but used his boost as his action to get into range. Can he fire the Proton rockets using Tuketu's ability or does paying the price for the attack come before you are officially the attacker?

Yes. You use Esege's tokens as if they were your own. So as long as the A-Wing is in range, he can use one of those focus to fire the Prokets.

You're the "attacker" as soon as you start the steps of the Attack, starting with the Declare Target step.

The sub-steps would be

1. Measure range and check firing arc

2. Choose a weapon

3. Choose an enemy ship as the target

4. Pay any costs required for the attack

You'd check the range from Esege to the attacker at 3.5, swipe a focus token if it's Range 1-2, then carry on to sub-step 4 with your newly acquired token.

If Esege had two tokens, when you get to the Modify Attack Dice step, you could swipe another one for that step as well.

And with Prockets, you don't even need to spend the focus, so you just 'count as' having one of Esege's tokens.

Actually, that's something I forgot about. You don't even need to swipe the token at all.

Excellent explanation guys. Thank you. That is what I was thinking would happen but I have been wrong about a few things lately so I wanted to double check.
