"Will in a minute, I found some things that look like Crystals, why they're in here is anyone's guess but I found them, we got two Scaley looking ones and a pearl, anyone know what they are?" Wale yells, clearly agitated that he had to wade his way through nearly 6 tons of muck to find 3 small objects. He them makes his way through the muck to Larik, helping him with the unconscious Krogan.
The Shadows Mark
Naught moves to help pull the unconscious Krogan from the corpse, a bit repulsed by all the viscera and bile. "It is miraculous this one still lives. We should try to make sure that remains the case," she says, checking the Krogan's vital signs as best she can with her limited knowledge of medicine and Krogan anatomy.
Larik lets out a low whistle when he sees what Wale discovered. His mother taught him not only how to fight with a saber, but also everything required to build one, including the variety of crystals that could be used in them.
"These are incredible Wale," he says. "They are some of the rarest crystals in the galaxy, far more powerful than the one in my saber."
He looks down at the unconscious Krogan.
"Amazing what you can find inside a space worm's belly. Let's try to get this Krogan back on its feet. Maybe the chief will be happy to have this one back."
Khit looks on as the others wade through bile and filth, repulsed by the stench. Then they drag an unconscious Krogan from the beasts guts, this is the motivation she needs to get dirty herself. She pushes through the muck to the others and helps drag the surprisingly heavy being out onto clear ground where she pulls a Stimpack and injects it into his body, hoping to stabilise him. When she sees he is breathing deeper and more slowly she relaxes "He will be ok, he just needs rest"
After Khit administers the medicine to the Krogan and announces it will be OK, Larik turns his attention back to the small spherical saber crystal Wale passed to him. After some cleaning and buffing with the same cloth he used earlier, the crystal feels impossibly smooth. It's so nearly frictionless he has a tough time keeping it from slipping from his grip.
Applying just the right amount of pressure in just the right place for just the right amount of time on his saber's hilt pops the door on the small compartment holding the current crystal. He scoops it out and replaces it with this new find and closes the compartment again. It makes a satisfying "chunk" noise as it closes.
Focusing his conciousness on his hilt, he feels the force flowing through him into this new crystal. It feels powerful. And a bit terrifying. He hears a faint roar far in the recesses of his conciousness and it sends a chill down his spine. Still, he doesn't feel evil eminating from the crystal, just...power. He'll have to be careful not to get too accustomed to the power. That surely is a road to the dark side.
He opens his eyes and ignites his saber, somewhat taken aback by its new appearance. It's still obviously orange, but its core is a darkness instead of a brilliant white. He shuts it back down and makes a vow to remember his parents' teachings.
He turns his attention back to his friends and the slightly digested Krogan.
"Any idea what we do now Khit? Did they say they'd be watching or are we supposed to exit somewhere? I think we'll all be glad to be out of here."
He lets a grin spread across his face and points to the Krogan.
"That one especially, I'd wager."
Edited by sonovabithKhit has a little chuckle at Lariks last words "I highly doubt that, honour is incredibly important to Krogan, even an honourable death is preferable to an embarrassing defeat. This Krogan is likely to be quite upset when he comes too, not competing his trials is a shameful thing. His clan will be obliged to banish him, a fate far worse than death to his people."
Khit looks around to see if any sign is presented of the Chief entering the arena. "They didn't say what to do once we completed our trials... To be honest they probably didn't expect us to survive! We should catch our breath then head back the way we came"
Larik tilts his head and considers Khit's words.
"Yeah, you're probably right. But they said you just have to survive the trials. Technically," he says, raising an eyebrow and smirking, "this one did."
"Hahahaha, very true human, very true. Well let's go see how these Krogan celebrate"
As you are walking back, still smelling of gore, a tomkah drives up to you, and the familiar face of Wyre appears from the front hatch.
"Well, well, you survived, and you killed a mythic being, a being of great power and legend, you killed Kalros, mother of all Thresher Maws, said to have lived for countless millennium, since the beginning of the planet's existance, and you brought her down," He says as he walks over to Khit Ne to congratulate her, "As your reward, you may have any of our females for you to mate with, you may walk among all Krogan as an Urdnot, AS URDNOT KHIT NE!! You may take great pride in this Khit, you have achieved the rank of battle master, the highest rank anyone can achieve in Krogan society, all of you have earned it. You have our support for ages to come, just name when and where."
After hearing Wyre, Lama spits out the water he was drinking from his water bottle. "I thought Khit IS a girl, Wyre." He says in his confusion.
"Umm, oh sh*t, then we administered the wrong rite, you off worlders all look the same, umm, crap, umm, well too late now, you may have whatever male you want then?" Wyre mumbles, embarrassed, he still congratulates you but now he has to figure out what to do with you.
(OOC: Someone failed a Knowledge Xenology check.)
Edited by killakanKhit gives the Chieftain a wry smile "Maybe I'll take you up on that offer" She pauses long enough to give him a little wink, enjoying clearly making him uncomfortable. "Unfortunately we have not come to your world for pleasure so some other time perhaps. For now we need to make it through to the centre of the city, on the other side of the crashed star destroyer. A guide and some extra muscle would be greatly appreciated, provisions would also be helpful"
"On another note, can you guys help me get somemore metal out of this" Lama gestuers to the beast "Things gut. Also, hey, Wyre would you mind giving me. Say..." He carries out some quick mental calculatios, "2 Kilos of circutry. and maybe a power pack?"
Mulak' s eyes slowly open and he begans to move his limbs that he has not moved in hundreds of years. He rolls to his side and begins to stand. "What is going on?" He thinks to himself. Looking around frantically and tries to grab at weapons he no longer has on his person. As he turns he sees the body of the ancient and a sense of sorrow comes over him. Voices catch his attention and turning he sees off worlders and a Krogan he recognizes, "Wyre, is that you?"
Seeing the face of the Krogan who put him through his Rite of passage awaken lifted Wyre's spirits out of embarrassment "Mulak, your alive! But you got eaten? How did you survive? Any who a current state of events is needed for you, (Begins telling a long and heavily exaggerated tale of how the Group passed it's Rite of passage, and that the first female to complete it killed Kalros)" Wyre pulls him into the Tomkah, still telling his story all the way back. You enter the Tomkah and begin your first steps back toward the Shadow Broker.
Lama plces one of the eggs in pain sight." Wyre, what is this?"
"That, is a thresher maw egg, you were in her wern't you?"
Khit makes sure to sit right next to the chief, real close, still enjoying his discomfort "Yep it looked disgusting, he vomited... now that was hilarious!" she pipes up when talk of the thresher comes up. Inside Khit isn't laughing though, they had killed an ancient beast. Not only that but they had killed it for not much more than sport! Sure it was violent, sure it was going to eat them all if they didn't fight back... but did they actually need to accept that challenge? Surely they could have found a way to avoid such violence? And now the unborn have no mother for their protection and learning. this continues to gnaw at Khit as they travel in the Tomkah
Edited by RichardbuxtonNaught sits quietly in the rocking Tomkah, pondering what else this planet would put them through before they found the woman who called them here. She turns and interrupts Lama and Wyre's conversation, inquiring, "This Gand is curious, what would the trial had been if you had realized Khit is female?"
Lama nods to ansewr Wyre's question. A look of grimace on his face when he sees what Khit is doing.
Edited by SHADOWGUARD CHAMPIONMulak listens to Wyre's tale of the off-worlders. He is amazed at the strength and determination they displayed in passing it. The beast was gone and for some strange reason he knew when she died. When all consciousness was gone, he knew and he wanted to know why? and How?. How was he able to touch the Ancient one's mind.
As Mulak's focuses on the present he turns to Wyre. " I take it a lot has changed since I have been away?"
Edited by MokkanYep, and he begins explaining the past 500-odd years, taking a long time on the past twenty. (Blasters weren't a thing 500 years ago, only in the past twenty did the "laser guns" came around to Krogan hands.)
"Wyre, what happened 20 years ago to bring the laser guns here?"
"The Machines tried to take over, talking something about mineral rights or something. They were destroying homes and religious sites to do so. You fought some of the remaining ones in your first round."
"Huh. What where those things in the second round" Khit asks dreading the answer. "They where some strange beasts"
